Abstract: A modular pyrophoric lighter includes an outer case, an insert removably received by the outer case, and a renewal module removably received by the insert. The renewal module quickly slides into the insert to provide a new fuel supply, wick, and flint. The renewal module quickly slides out of the insert when the fuel, wick, and/or flint is spent so that a new renewal module may be installed. In an alternative embodiment, a modular lighter includes an outer case, an insert removably received by the outer case, and a fuel module removably received by the insert. The fuel module quickly slides into the insert to provide a new fuel supply. The fuel module quickly slides out of the insert when the fuel is spent so that a new fuel module may be installed.

Abstract: A lighter has a safety button and an ignition trigger arranged on the lighter housing such that an activation force required to move the safety button to an activate position and an ignition force required to move the ignition trigger in an ignition direction are directed opposite to one another. The safety button is arranged on the housing for contact by the purlicue of the user's hand and the trigger is arranged on the housing for contact by a finger of the hand. Consequently, operation of the safety button is concealed during use, and the lighter is operable using only one hand.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a lighter. The lighter includes a housing having a supply of fuel, an activating unit movably associated with the housing to selectively ignite the fuel, and at least two separate contact areas such that the user can apply enough force or torque with at least two fingers to overcome the torque/forces required to activate piezo, release the fuel the flame in which the activating unit has at least one internal surface.

Abstract: A tool is provided. The tool may include a handle, a frame, and a removable saw blade including at least one hole on one end thereof and at least one hole on another end thereof. The tool may also include a compensating clip configured to attach the removable saw blade to the frame and to provide tension for the removable saw blade. The compensating clip may include a plate including a clip hook, and the plate further includes an opening where a compensator spring is provided. The clip hook is configured to attach onto the at least one hole of the removable saw blade to attach the saw blade to the frame.

The tray is operable to protect the product from damage during storage or transport as well as provide an enhanced appearance during display. Abstract: A lighter device having a flow restrictor and associated methods for manufacturing and testing such lighter device and flow restrictor are described. The flow restrictor may be formed of a porous member to achieve a substantially fixed or varying flame height. The flow restrictor may be tested before or after assembly into a lighter housing by receiving a non-combustible fluid therethrough. The flow rate of the non-combustible fluid may be correlated to the flow rate of a combustible fluid through the flow restrictor to approximate the resultant flame height of a lighter incorporating the tested flow restrictor. The flow restrictor may also be tested by receiving a combustible fluid therethrough prior to assembling the flow restrictor into the lighter housing. In this manner, flow restrictors and corresponding lighter devices may be tested without introducing combustible fluids into such lighter devices prior to shipment. Also, a vacuum may be drawn on a fuel tank of the lighter prior to shipment.

An actuator is coupled to the latching element and exposed for manipulation by a user to move the latching element into engagement with the engagement portion.
