Abstract: Modular, stackable filter units are described. The units may contain particles of glass or other filtration material and may be used to cleanse debris-laden water of, for example, swimming pools or spas. They additionally may replace conventional pleated mesh filters and beds of sand if necessary or desired.
Abstract: The invention provides a liquid composition when used for maintenance of a body of water, the liquid composition comprising a solution of magnesium and potassium salts, at least one of which is a halide salt. Preferably, the liquid composition comprises Mg2+ from the magnesium salt in an amount of from about 6000 ppm to about 15 000 ppm; K+ from the potassium salt in an amount from about 40 000 ppm to about 120 000 ppm and hypohalite from the halide in an amount from about 100 000 ppm to about 400 000 ppm.
Abstract: A method for treating a swimming pool, including introducing Mg2+ to a level from 60 ppm to 300 ppm to the swimming pool by addition of a soluble magnesium compound to the swimming pool, or Mg2+ to a level from 60 ppm to 1000 ppm by addition of a magnesium halide in addition to a further soluble magnesium compound.

Abstract: Detailed is electricity generation for powering devices associated with swimming pools or other structures utilizing recirculating fluid. The recirculating fluid is used to produce electricity for direct or indirect supply to electrical devices. Turbines may be placed in by-pass channels so as to have access to some fluid flow yet not unduly disrupt main flow of the recirculating fluid.
