Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods for connecting components are described. The components may be drive controls and motors of pumps of water-circulation systems needing to be connected both mechanically and electrically. The connectors may be robust and have alignment, sealing, and keying capabilities.

Abstract: Systems and methods of (remotely) controlling aspects of pools and spas and of modifying water contained therein are detailed. Internet-enabled access to pool and spa controllers may happen without any need for users to create firewall ports or utilize static internet protocol addresses. Certain networking devices may be configured using a USB connection or SD card, avoiding any requirement for an Ethernet cable or supplying separate power to the devices during configuration. Other devices may be configured wirelessly, without need of any USB connection or SD card. Time-varying data may be obtained in respect of one or more installations and analyzed for various information.

Abstract: Automatic swimming pool cleaners and components thereof are described. The cleaners may provide dual filtration of debris suspended in water of pools as well as a fluid path allowing some water to by-pass one of the two filters. They also may include any of all components such as multi-section inlet tubes, Venturi jets, nozzles exhausting water onto rotatable vanes, brushes, downforce turbines, and mechanisms for adjusting water flow through thrust jets or sweep tails.

Abstract: Motor housings and shrouds are detailed. Inlets of the shrouds may be included on any or all portions of their peripheries (as well as on rears of shrouds if desired). Air hence need not necessarily be drawn wholly linearly into the shrouds, permitting the shrouds to abut, or at least be closely proximate, other objects without materially diminishing air flow into the shrouds. Moreover, plates within the shrouds may be positioned so as to create torturous paths through which the air must travel. Channeling air through these torturous paths helps reduce noise as the air moves to the fans.

Abstract: A chemical injector for use with a pool system can include an assembly having a disposable chemical container (214) and a pump (106,216). The disposable chemical container can fluidly seal a chemical in an inner volume of the disposable chemical container. The pump can be coupled to the disposable chemical container for injecting the chemical into the fluid flow of the pool system.

Abstract: Control boxes with segregated low- and high-voltage components are described. Service technicians (or others) requiring access to one set of components may do so without necessarily accessing the other set. Dual user interfaces may be utilized, further, with one interface being present at the control box and the other being remote therefrom.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling power on a communication network bus connecting an auxiliary device and a control device in a pool or spa system. The control device includes a power source for providing voltage to the device and a power detector. The auxiliary device can provide additional voltage to the control device via the communication network bus. The power detector may be capable of detecting voltage received by the control device via the communication network bus. The power detector may also be capable of detecting traffic (e.g., communication) by the control device or the auxiliary device via the bus and/or data collision on the bus. The power detector is configured to enable or disable the power source of the control device based on voltage detected on the communication network bus, traffic detected on the communication network bus, and/or data collision detected on the communication network bus.

Abstract: A bubbler assembly including a pipe that telescopes relative to a surface of a pool or spa such that an exit opening of the bubbler is closer to the water surface than is conventionally possible. When in the initial position, a first end of the telescoping pipe is flush or substantially flush with the surface of the pool or the spa. When in the extended position, the first end of the telescoping pipe is adjacent the water surface, which is spaced apart from the surface of the pool or spa. By transferring the exit opening of the bubbler to a location adjacent the water surface, the plume need travel only a small distance through the main body of water before penetrating the water surface.

Abstract: Components of automatic pool cleaners (APCs) are detailed. The components may include brushes configured to attach to blades of scrubbers of the APCs. The flexible brushes may rotate as their associated blades rotate and have fingers which flex so as to adduce contact between a to-be-cleaned pool or spa surface and bristles protruding outward from sides of the fingers.
