  • Publication number: 20180244393
Abstract: Described are baseframe tube clamps having fulcrum elements at one end, contact surfaces for contacting a baseframe tube, and a securement element at a second end. The fulcrum elements can contact a contact surface of a seat row assembly component, such that, when a baseframe tube clamp is assembled with a seat row assembly component and a baseframe tube, the baseframe tube clamp can press on the seat row assembly component via the fulcrum elements and press on the baseframe tube so as to restrict motion of the baseframe tube relative to the seat row assembly component.

  • Publication number: 20180229848
Abstract: Described are assemblies that include elements of a tray table, such as for an air-craft or other passenger craft. A tray table body can be movable between a stowed configuration and a deployed configuration. A set of arms may support the table body relative to a seat back in the stowed configuration and in the deployed configuration. In response to movement of the seat back (such as in a crash scenario), the arms may permit release of a constraint of the tray table body that would otherwise inhibit the tray table body from moving with the seat back.

  • Publication number: 20180222361
Abstract: There is provided a seat break over device. The seat break over device features linkage members that connect the seat back to the quadrant arm. In the static condition, the linkage member acts as a rigid member, constraining rotation of the seat back relative to the quadrant arm. Upon impact of a certain inertial force, the linkage member interacts with a weighted member. The weighted member may include a suspended weight or mass that pivots about a horizontal axis. During a gravity load of a certain amount (e.g., a 16 g event), inertial loads act on the weighted member/hammer, which transfers a force onto the linkage member. This force moves the linkage member into an unstable mode, allowing forward rotation of the seat back with respect to the quadrant arm.

  • Publication number: 20180186457
Abstract: Ramp mounts may facilitate the movement of a. passenger seat pan relative to a passenger seat frame during movement of the seat pan between an upright position and a recline position relative to the passenger seat frame. During cycling of the seat pan from the recline position to the upright position, ramp mounts may break. Embodiments of the ramp mount (16) disclosed herein may increase the ramp mount durability so as to reduce the instances of ramp mounts breaking during cycling of the seat pan between the recline and upright positions. Additionally, some embodiments may provide for a ramp mount that has fewer components. Such embodiments may simplify coupling of the ramp mount to a seat pan and may reduce passenger seat system assembly time. Moreover, in some embodiments, the reduced number of components may further reduce manufacturing time and/or costs thereby providing a relatively low cost ramp mount.

  • Publication number: 20180065521
Abstract: An electronically-activated support positioning system for a passenger seat can include a sensor capable of detecting a tactile input from a passenger and sending a signal, optionally through a controller, to a lock actuator coupled to a lockable hydraulic spring to either lock or unlock the lockable hydraulic spring. The lockable hydraulic spring can control movement of a support of the passenger seat, such as reclining of a seatback. In an example, when tactile input is detected, the lock actuator can unlock the lockable hydraulic spring, allowing an attached seatback to be adjusted. When tactile input is no longer detected, the lock actuator can lock the lockable hydraulic spring, securing the seatback from adjustment. The sensor can be sufficiently small to fit within the confines of an armrest. The sensor can be a microswitch positioned to detect deflection of a tab formed in the wall of the armrest.
