Abstract: An aquarium filter housing unit includes a top chamber composed of a fluid impeller housing and a fluid impeller, as well as a bottom chamber for a replaceable filter cartridge. The top chamber and the bottom chamber are formed as separate units and are held together via a friction fit along a bottom edge of the top chamber and a top edge of the bottom chamber. The bottom chamber includes a plurality of bottom chamber sidewalls and a base wall, wherein a door is provided for selectively accessing the filter cartridge held within in the bottom chamber.

Abstract: The present invention provides a feeding device for amphibians and reptiles that includes a food chamber in the form of a cup with a plurality of feeding holes formed in a bottom thereof. The preferred hole size is approximately 4 mm to accommodate the mealworm. The feeding device is made from transparent plastic allowing reptiles or amphibians sitting beneath the feeding device to see the mealworms contained therein.

Abstract: An aquatic feeding device includes a hollow body having an exterior wall, the exterior wall including an exterior surface defining an external shape of the feeding device and an interior surface defining an inner cavity of the feeding device. The hollow body includes an upper end and a lower end. An air tight chamber is formed within the inner cavity of the feeding device adjacent the upper end of the hollow body. A plurality of feeding apertures are formed within the exterior wall adjacent the air tight chamber. The plurality of feeding apertures are shaped and dimensioned to permit pets with access to the inner cavity of the feeding device.

Abstract: Provided are, among other things, aquatic apparatuses. In one, an aquarium is at least partially filled with water, and a mirror is disposed within the water, the mirror having a reflective surface area that is between 1-40 square inches. In another, an aquarium is at least partially filled with water, and a mirror is attached to, and thereby suspended beneath, a buoyant object in the water. In yet another, a mirror is attached a buoyant object, the mirror having a reflective surface area that is between 1-40 square inches.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for capturing live insects that includes an upper section having side walls, a top cover, and plural openings in the side walls that are large enough to permit insects to enter. This upper portion houses a light source and is well-suited to attracting and trapping insects in the first instance. An enclosed lower section is well-suited to trapping the insects on a more permanent basis. Between the upper section and the enclosed lower section is a funnel, having a wide opening adjacent to the upper section and tapering to a narrow opening within the lower section.

Abstract: Provided is a floating structure for use in an aquarium or other aquatic setting, having a manufactured hollow body with a top side, a bottom side and sidewalls extending between the top side and the bottom side. The hollow body is weighted so as to have a stable floating position in water such that the hollow elongated body predominantly remains submerged beneath the water's surface, but an outer surface of the top side consistently remains above the surface of the water.

Abstract: Provided is a floating dock for use in an aquarium. In one particular configuration, the dock rides along one or more rails that extend into the aquarium, thereby confining the movement of the dock within the aquarium. Such a dock may be used by aquatic life in the aquarium, e.g., for basking and/or for resting.

Abstract: A method of periodically spraying live plants and/or animals, using a portable electric sprayer, is described and claimed. In the preferred embodiments, the portable electric sprayer includes: (i) a fluid reservoir; (ii) a nozzle for producing a spray of fluid; (iii) a conduit between the fluid reservoir and the nozzle; (iv) an electric pump coupled so as to pump fluid from the reservoir, through the conduit and out of nozzle; and (v) a control panel. In addition, a control circuit in the portable electric sprayer accepts the user settings from the control panel, and activates and deactivates the electric pump when indicated by the user settings. The nozzle is directed so as to provide the sprays toward at least one of: a terrarium, a bird cage, an aviary, a garden or a potted plant, and the portable electric sprayer is allowed to cycle through a plurality of the sprays while unattended.
