  • Patent number: 11593175
Abstract: In general, embodiments are disclosed herein for tracking and allocating graphics hardware resources. In one embodiment, a software and/or firmware process constructs a cross-application command queue utilization table based on one or more specified command queue quality of service (QoS) settings, in order to track the target and current utilization rates of each command queue on the graphics hardware over a given frame and to load work onto the graphics hardware in accordance with the utilization table. Based on the constructed utilization table for a given frame, any command queues that have exceed their respective target utilization value may be moved to an “inactive” status for the duration of the current frame. For any command queues that remain in an “active” status for the current frame, work from those command queues may be loaded on to slots of the appropriate data masters of the graphics hardware in any desired order.

  • Patent number: 11595067
Abstract: An electronic device may include wireless circuitry with a baseband processor, a digital transmitter, a digital-to-analog-converter (DAC), and an antenna. The baseband processor may produce baseband signals. The digital transmitter may generate self-interference-compensated signals based on the baseband signals. The DAC may generate radio-frequency signals for transmission by the antenna based on the self-interference-compensated signals and square-wave local oscillator waveforms. The digital transmitter may include a self-interference canceller that generates the self-interference-compensated signals. The self-interference-compensated signals may mitigate the creation of self-interferer repetition replicas that land on the carrier frequency of the radio-frequency signals. This may allow the radio-frequency signals to be free from error vector magnitude degradation and spectral regrowth that would otherwise be produced due to self-interference in the radio-frequency signals output by the DAC.

The device detects termination of the first multi-contact gesture; and, in response to detecting termination of the first multi-contact gesture: when a resizing metric based on the first multi-contact gesture is below a predefined threshold, the device ceases to display the content at the respective enlarged size; and, when the resizing metric based on the first multi contact gesture is above the predefined threshold, the device displays the content on the display in a predefined arrangement.

Abstract: In an exemplary method performed at an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display. The method includes concurrently displaying a first application and a second application on the touch-sensitive display. The method also includes detecting a first contact at a border between the concurrently displayed first and second applications. Immediately following detecting the first contact: detecting a gesture from a location of the first contact towards an edge of the touch-sensitive display. Upon detecting the gesture: selecting a fixed display area from a plurality of predefined fixed display areas for the second application; automatically resizing the second application to the selected fixed display area; and automatically resizing the first application to occupy substantially all of a remaining area of the touch-sensitive display.

Abstract: A system includes a plurality of systems-on-a-chip (SoCs), connected by a network. The plurality of SoCs and the network are configured to operate as a single logical computing system. The plurality of SoCs may be configured to exchange local power information indicative of network activity occurring on their respective portions of the network. A given one of the plurality of SoCs may be configured to determine that a local condition for placing the respective portion of the network corresponding to the given SoC into a reduced power mode has been satisfied. The given SoC may be further configured to place the respective portion of the network into the reduced power mode in response to determining that a global condition for the reduced power mode is satisfied. The global condition may be assessed based upon current local power information for remaining ones of the plurality of SoCs.

  • Patent number: 11594199
Abstract: An electronic device such as a cellular telephone or other device may have a housing with front and rear faces joined by a sidewall. A display may be mounted on the front face. The electronic device may include multiple ambient light sensors such as a front ambient light sensor on the front face and one or more supplemental ambient light sensors on the rear face and/or on the sidewall. The front ambient light sensor gathers a front ambient light intensity measurement and the supplemental ambient light sensor gathers a supplemental ambient light intensity measurement. During operation, control circuitry in the electronic device adjusts the display brightness based on data from the ambient light sensors. The control circuitry may implement power saving restrictions that limit when the supplemental ambient light intensity measurement is taken into account and/or that impose a brightness cap on the display brightness.

Abstract: A device implementing a system for missed communication notification may include at least one processor configured to receive, from a server over a first communication channel, a message indicating that another device initiated a communication with the device over a second communication channel at a particular time. The at least one processor may be further configured to determine, by the device, whether the communication was established with the other device over the second communication channel at the particular time. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide, for display, an indication of the message based at least in part on a determination that the communication initiated by the other device was not established over the second communication channel at the particular time.

Abstract: High-speed connectors that save space in an electronic device, are simple to connect, and are readily manufactured. One example can provide a high-speed connector having high-speed connections. The high-speed connections can be integrated with low-speed connections in a board-to-board structure to save space in an electronic device. An example can provide high-speed connections that are simple to connect. The board-to-board structure can include a board-to-board plug, where each high-speed connection includes a high-speed contact having a lateral portion. The lateral portion can include right-angle tabs to guide a central conductor of a coaxial cable. The central conductor of each coaxial cable can be soldered to a corresponding lateral portion. Ground contacts for the board-to-board plug can include crimping portions to connect to an outer shield of each coaxial cable. These high-speed connectors can be readily manufactured by utilizing stamped contacts and molded housings.

  • Patent number: 11595230
Abstract: Embodiments relate to including information in a data packet transmitted by a transmitting integrated circuit (e.g., SOC) to account for a time delay associated with an unsuccessful arbitration attempt to send the data packet over a multi-drop bus. The unsuccessful arbitration attempt by the integrated circuit may delay the transmission of the data packet until the multi-drop bus becomes available for the integrated circuit to send the data packet. The data packet includes a data field to include time delay information caused by the unsuccessful arbitration attempt. A receiving integrated circuit may determine the time that the data packet would have been sent out from the transmitting integrated circuit absent the unsuccessful arbitration attempt based on the delay information. Embodiments also relate to a synchronization generator circuit in an integrated circuit that generates timing signals indicating times at which periodic events occur at another integrated circuit.

Abstract: A source device executing the application can transmit the streaming content to the playback device. The size of the buffer can be changed during the playback of streaming content. To perform the change seamlessly, embodiments can cause the application to provide the streaming content at an increased or decreased rate, depending on how the size of the playback buffer is to be changed. The new buffer size (i.e., smaller or larger amount) can provide improved playback of the streaming content, e.g., based on a latency-reliability tradeoff as determined using various factors (e.g., quality of connection between the devices). The changed rate for providing the streaming content can be achieved by slowing down or speeding up a clock signal that is provided to the application.

Abstract: Certain embodiments are directed to techniques (e.g., a device, a method, a memory or non-transitory computer readable medium storing code or instructions executable by one or more processors) for passive beacon communication techniques. Transmitting devices (e.g., beacons) can transmit advertising messages using a first wireless protocol to provide timing for ranging messages for one of more ranging messages over a second protocol (e.g., UWB). One or more receiving devices can determine using signal strength if the devices are within a threshold range to perform communication techniques. Various ranging communications techniques can be used to determine a range between the receiving device and transmitting device. Other techniques can be used to passively calculate the angle of arrival for transmitter signals. The angle of arrival information can be used for precise position locating for the receiving device or to indicate interest in information provided by the one or more transmitting devices.
