The first equation is one that is acquired based on a second equation expressing a dual field divergence of which can be expressed using the measurement field, by using the measurement field and the unknown quantity, and on the Helmholtz decomposition of the dual field.

Abstract: A method and a system for providing calibration for a polychromatic photon counting detector forward counting model. Measurements with multiple materials and known path lengths are used to calibrate the photon counting detector counting response of the forward model. The flux independent weighted bin response function is estimated using the expectation maximization method, and then used to estimate the pileup correction terms at plural tube voltage settings for each detector pixel. The beam hardening corrections are then applied to the measured projection data sinogram, and the corrected sinogram is reconstructed to the counting image at the selected single energy.

Abstract: A controller may detect an elevation of a recording medium that is to be printed to, the elevation may result in the printing element of a printing device being negatively affected. The controller may automatically produce a time-limited printing pause of the printing element in which the printing gap between the printing element and the recording medium is temporarily enlarged in order to direct the detected elevation past the printing element. A negative effect on the printing device given the presence of a damaged recording medium may thus be efficiently and reliably avoided or reduced.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a medical information processing apparatus includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry predicts a progress relating to a disease that a patient contracts or may contract. The processing circuitry specifies a cell necessary for treating the disease. The processing circuitry predicts a first transition relating to a necessary amount of the cells and a second transition relating to a supply amount of the cells. The processing circuitry determines, based on the first transition and the second transition, a future time point when the necessary amount and the supply amount coincide, or when the supply amount is greater than the necessary amount.

The flux independent weighted bin response function is estimated using the expectation maximization method, and then used to estimate the pileup correction terms at plural tube voltage settings for each detector pixel. To correct the variation of the detector response due to different PCD sub-pixel summing schemes, the embodiments calibrate forward model parameters based on the various pixel readout modes.

Abstract: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry sets an imaging region and a labeling region based on at least a blood vessel structure, the imaging region being a region of a matrix of a plurality of divided voxels including different blood vessel regions, respectively, the labeling region being a region to which a labeling pulse for labeling blood flowing into the imaging region is applied. The processing circuitry acquires data of the imaging region by applying the labeling pulse to the labeling region by using an arterial spin labeling (ASL) method. The processing circuitry generates an image based on the data. The processing circuitry determines anomaly of the blood vessel regions by comparing signal values of the voxels included in the image.
