A tab holds the wiper oriented so as to wipe the print head assemblies in a direction of a printing operation.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2016Date of Patent: January 30, 2018Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Jafar N. Patent number: 9882824Abstract: A system (100) includes a portability manager (160) to provide portability instructions to specify a change in deployment of a given application (110) on a cloud infrastructure (130). A deployment manager (120) controls deployment or lifecycle management of the given application (110) on the cloud infrastructure (130) in response to the portability instructions and based on matching cloud infrastructure resources to application requirements for the given application (110).Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2012Date of Patent: January 30, 2018Assignee: HEWLETT PACKARD ENTERPISE DEVELOPMENT LPInventors: Stephane H. Patent number: 9880934Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for allocating CPU cycles among processes in a storage system. One method includes operations for maintaining segments in a first memory, each segment including blocks, and for maintaining a block temperature for each block in a second memory. The first memory is a read-cache where one segment is written at a time, and each block is readable from the first memory without reading the corresponding complete segment. The block temperature is based on the frequency of access to the respective block, and a segment temperature is based on the block temperature of its blocks. Additionally, the segment with the lowest segment temperature is selected for eviction from the second memory, and blocks in the selected segment with a block temperature greater than a threshold temperature are identified. The selected segment is evicted, and a segment with the identified blocks is written to the first memory.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2016Date of Patent: January 30, 2018Assignee: Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LPInventors: Pradeep Shetty, Sandeep Karmarkar, Senthil Kumar Ramamoorthy, Umesh Maheshwari, Vanco Buca

Patent number: 9878569Abstract: Described herein is a media composition. The media composition includes a substrate and an ink receiving layer that includes binder that includes an ethylene-vinyl alcohol co-polymer with a glass transition temperature of 75 degrees Celsius or less, a melting point temperature of 175 degrees Celsius or less, and/or a crystallization temperature of 150 degrees Celsius or less. The ink receiving layer can be applied to a substrate using extrusion techniques.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2012Date of Patent: January 30, 2018Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Bor-Jiunn Niu, Haigang Chen, Lisa A. Patent number: 9878870Abstract: According to an example, to eject print media from an image forming apparatus, a variable page feed velocity of a first page of print media exiting a feed zone is detected. An acceleration value and a deceleration value based on the variable page feed velocity of the first page is calculated. The calculated acceleration is applied to a media movement component in the output zone when the entire first page has cleared a media sensor in the front of the output zone, and the deceleration is applied when the tail end of the first page is in a brake zone. In some examples, a second page of print media and a variable page feed velocity of the second page exiting the feed zone is detected, and the media movement component in the output zone is accelerated to match the variable page feed velocity of the second page.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2015Date of Patent: January 30, 2018Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Wesley R Dchalk, Mark H MacKenzie, Bruce A Axten, Francisco Javier Gomez Maurer, Catherine Elizabeth Gould
