  • Patent number: 6494025
Abstract: A hydraulic system for a detachable implement such as draper platform for a combine utilizes a platform-mounted pump supplied with return oil from the existing reel drive motor. The system utilizes the existing combine hydraulic connection for the reel drive to supply oil to the draper belt drive motors. Oil from the combine powers the reel drive motor and then flows into a manifold block (mixing chamber) before entering the inlet of the draper belt drive pump. This pump is sized to provide sufficient oil flow to power the draper belt drive motors, arranged in series. Return oil from the belt drive motors is routed back to the manifold block where it can mix with incoming oil from the reel drive pump before returning to the combine reservoir or being recirculated to the belt drive motors. The hydraulic system avoids the need to equip the platform with a complete hydraulic system and avoids the need to modify the existing hydraulic system of the combine.

  • Patent number: 5412956
Abstract: A variable sized finger ring has a center shank member and first and second side shank members. Each side shank member is hinged at a first end portion to a respective end of the center shank member and a second end portion of each side shank member is hollow. An elongated sizing section extends in the hollow second end portions of the side shank members. The sizing section has a plurality of stops thereon for determining the circumferential size of the ring. A first end of the sizing section is secured within the hollow second end portion of the first side shank member and a second end of the sizing section is retained within the hollow second end portion of the second side shank member. The sizing section is movable to locate one of the plurality of stops in position against a fixed part of the hollow second end portion of the second side shank member, thus fixing the circumferential size of the ring.

  • Patent number: 5085240
Abstract: A shelter structure comprising a supporting framework which includes a pair of spaced apart base members, each base member comprising a plurality of stationary receptacles. A plurality of ribs extend between the base members and have end portions removably mounted to respective stationary receptacles of the base members to form a skeleton frame which is covered by a skin. Each base member also comprises a movable receptacle capable to removeably hold the end portion of a rib. To erect the shelter, the ribs are temporarily mounted in the stationary receptacles of the base members to form a skeleton frame, the skin is mounted to the skeleton frame and one or more selected ribs which ultimately will form the door of the shelter structure are transferred from their respective stationary receptacles to movable receptacles so as to allow the ribs to move between an opened and a closed position relatively to the other ribs of the shelter.

  • Patent number: 5065933
Abstract: A robotically controlled pick-uo to tool (11) is modified by connecting to it a load cell (26) that generates a signal indicative of stress on the pick-up tool. The pick-up tool is directed toward a chip (12) to be removed and movement is stopped when the load cell generates a first signal indicative of a first level of stress. In addition to stopping movement of the pick-up tool, the first signal actuates heating of the tool to a temperature sufficient to melt the solder (13) bonding the chip to the substrate (14). The melting of the solder bonds (13) results in a reduction of stress on the tool, which causes the load cell (26) to generate a signal indicative of the second level of stress. The second signal actuates the vacuum of the pick-up tool to cause adhesion of the chip to the pick-up tool and also initiates movement of the pick-up tool so as remove the chip from the substrate.

  • Patent number: 5018681
Abstract: A roving bobbin creel for use in a textile ring spinning machine includes upright stanchions spaced along the length of the machine at its center, mounting elements affixed to the upright stanchions, support elements affixed to the mounting elements to extend transversely outwardly therefrom, and an elongate carrier element affixed to the underside of the support elements to extend longitudinally with respect to the spinning machine for supporting a plurality of roving bobbins in depending fashion from the elongate carrier element. Each mounting element includes a tongue portion projecting transversely outwardly with respect to the spinning machine and each support element defines an interior receiving area for insertion of the tongue portion for simple yet secure affixation of the supporting elements on the mounting elements.

  • Patent number: 4943065
Abstract: A target structure for a bean bag tossing game has a target surface member of such dimensions and surface texture and flexibility that a bean bag striking the target surface may either slide or bounce or both depending upon the angle of incidence of the bean bag, the structure including vertical supports which establish the target surface at an angle with respect to the ground plane within the range of 10-20 degrees depending upon the overall dimensions and the height differential as between a front support member and a rear support member. The target structure provides an interesting game target and variations in how the game may be scored.
