    Abstract: A word processor capable of determining the frequencies of use of the words in an editable text stored in the text memory includes a frequency count memory provided in an unused area of the text memory. The text memory addresses of the words in the text are stored in association with their respective frequencies of use in the frequency count memory. The configuration permits a speedy frequency count operation on the words in the text without providing a separate frequency count memory.
