    Abstract: A pouch type rechargeable battery that comprises an electrode assembly comprising a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed between the first and second electrodes is disclosed. The battery further comprises a pouch case comprising a case cover and a case body that is formed with a space for receiving the electrode assembly therein and a sealing part that is formed around the space. The sealing part comprises side sealing sections where the width of each side sealing section is less than the depth of the space.
