Abstract: Methods and systems described herein are directed to evaluating an individual's ecological impact to promote reductions for that impact. An ecological impact evaluator can automatically retrieve behavioral data of a user that the evaluator can assess for guiding the user with respect to one or more of product purchasing, water usage, recycling and composting procedures, and driving practices. In view of data collected, the evaluator can provide various recognitions for behavior that incentivize the user toward maintaining or improving current behaviors.

Abstract: A surgical-implement count and capture system including a carrier tape having a plurality of spaced-apart receiving areas disposed longitudinally along the carrier tape. Each of the plurality of spaced-apart receiving areas being configured to receive a surgical-implement. The carrier tape is configured to follow a first pathway. A deposit station is located along the first pathway and is adapted to accommodate deposition of a plurality of the surgical-implements respectively into successive ones of the spaced-apart receiving areas when resident at the deposit station. A counting station is located along the first pathway downstream of the deposit station. The counting station includes a sensor adapted to detect the plurality of the surgical-implements in the respective receiving areas.

Abstract: An electronic receipt system according to example embodiments includes: a code issuance server configured to issue a code in response to a request from a mobile terminal and to transmit the code to the mobile terminal; a POS terminal configured to read the code displayed on a screen of the mobile terminal, to transmit the code to the code issuance server for inquiry, and when it is confirmed that the code is one that is issued by the code issuance server, to associate the code and electronic receipt information generated when performing transaction processing with each other; and an electronic receipt management server configured to save the code and the electronic receipt information that are associated with each other received from the POS terminal and when the mobile terminal transmits the code, to transmit the electronic receipt information that is associated with the code to the mobile terminal.

Logic may transmit an encrypted message from the card reader to the registration processor to bind the payment instrument to the device. Logic may receive a communication from the device comprising platform information. Logic may perform a security protocol to establish a secure communication channel with the device. Logic may determine an existence of the certification for the device in the database based upon the platform information. And logic may register the platform in response to locating the certification of the platform.

Abstract: Various versions of a customer-friendly smart dining table are disclosed for streamlining all processes and meeting customer needs and interests from food ordering to delivery directly on the table. The table comprises an interactive interface capable of receiving touch-based inputs, voice-based inputs, or both from patron(s) and displaying output(s) respectively. The interface may comprise a feedback module to provide automated assistance to the patron(s) in food selection and customization of the menu, an order management module to allow the patron(s) to place food orders, a payment module to enable the patron(s) to complete payments directly from the table, a power management module to manage power usage and ambient lighting, and a leisure module to interact with various entertainment options. The interface has antimicrobial properties to maintain the hygiene of the smart dining table.

Abstract: State of the art food quality measurement techniques fail to determine quality of the food item once it is packed and sealed in a container. The disclosure herein generally relates to food quality prediction, and, more particularly, to a system and method for predicting food quality in a non-invasive manner. A Color Changing Indicator (CCI) in a biosensor strip forming a component of the enclosed package in which the liquid food item is packed, changes color when came in contact with the liquid food item. For different quality of the liquid food item the CCI has different color. Based on the color of the CCI, and ambient temperature and relative humidity at the time the color of the CCI is determined, a machine learning model determines rate of deterioration of the liquid food item, and then predicts remaining shelf life, which in turn provided as output to a user.

Abstract: A media terminal includes two integrated currency devices, each device providing at least one feature/operation that is similar to or is the same as the other device. Two independent sessions to each device are made and presented to a transaction application of the terminal as a single aggregated session. When the transaction application issues a command through the single aggregated session, a decision is made that is transparent to the application as to which device should process the command on behalf of the application and the command is issued to the selected device over the corresponding independent session. Results or notifications provided by the selected device are aggregated and provided to the application over the single aggregated session. In an embodiment, the two integrated currency devices are different types of devices from one another.

Abstract: The disclosure includes a fixed retail scanner includes a data reader. The data reader includes a main board including a system processor disposed within the data reader, and one or more camera modules disposed within the data reader and operably coupled with the system processor. Each camera module may include a local on-board imager AI engine configured to perform AI tasks according to a loaded trained AI model. A system artificial intelligence (AI) engine may be disposed within the data reader and configured to perform AI tasks according to a loaded trained AI model. The system processor is operably coupled to each of the imager AI engines and the system AI engine for scheduling and dispatching AI tasks across a distributed network of AI resources including the imager AI engines and the system AI engine.

In one non-limiting example, a system includes a first computing device configured to identify a second computing device using a wireless communication protocol in a store location. A first notification for the first computing device is activated based at least in part on an accessibility type. A user interface is displayed for receiving client data, and the client data includes a product entered by a user. An expected amount is determined for the product based at least in part on the client data and transmitted to the second computing device. A pending amount for the product is received from the second computing device. A second notification is activated for the first computing device prior to a completion of the purchase based at least in part on the pending amount and the expected amount.

Abstract: Methods and systems of exchanging data using payment cards with universal reference numbers are disclosed. A merchant computing system includes a merchant input/output assembly receiving a universal reference number from a customer at a point of sale. A merchant database retrievably stores a plurality of universal reference numbers and customer information associated with each of the plurality of universal reference numbers. A transaction circuit receives the universal reference number from the merchant input/output assembly, retrieves customer information associated with the universal reference number, and provides an output relating to a transaction based on the customer information.

Abstract: A casino cage cashout system includes integrated chip validation and transaction record generation. The system includes an interface to a chip reader. An output of the chip reader is used to generate chip information, including chip value, such as for causing an automated cash dispenser to dispense cash in an amount equal to the value of the chips being redeemed. The cage cashout system is also integrated with an anti-money laundering (AML) system, wherein the cage cashout system automatically generates a transaction report which include information regarding the chip cashout and transmits that report to the AML system.

Abstract: A system comprising one or more processors and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computing instructions that, when executed on the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform: receiving requests for at least two pick-walks to fulfill multiple orders; mapping each of the multiple items to respective aisles within at least a single portion of the location; calculating, using core logic, a minimum distance for each one of two or more pick-walks to fulfill the multiple orders, wherein the two or more pick-walks are revised through multiple iterations; generating the at least two pick-walks based on the two or more pick-walks; and transmitting the at least two pick-walks to the at least two pickers. Abstract: A distributed computer system includes a central server, a computing device of a user, and point-of-sale terminals. The central server is configured to assign a global user ID to a user and store, in association with the global user ID and local user IDs. The computing device is configured to generate and display a code symbol representing at least one user ID. A point-of-sale terminal is configured to scan the displayed code symbol and code symbols of merchandise being purchased, and generate transaction information. A local server is configured to transfer the transaction information from the terminal to the central server. When the transaction information includes a local user ID, a point total of the user is updated based on the transaction information and transmitted to the computing device. The central server stores the transaction information, which is received from the local server, in association with the global user ID.

Abstract: Users in a facility may move about and their authentication status may change accordingly. For example, upon entering a facility, a user may present identification data. At that point, the user is considered an authenticated user with persistent profile data. However, the identification of a user may not be presented at entry or may be unreliable, which causes the user to be considered an unauthenticated user with temporary profile data. In other scenarios, the identification of authenticated users may become unreliable based on their location or their proximity to other users. In cases where users are crowded at a location, the profile data for such users may be aggregated and may be based on common settings of the set of possible users in the group. A user interface may be presented to a user based on their designated profile data.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for embedded card reader security include configuring a personal account number (PAN) application installed on a device to utilize an embedded card reader (ECR) and receiving, at the PAN application and based at least in part on an interaction between the ECR and the device, a PAN for a transaction. The PAN may be sent to a payment processing service and a personal identification number (PIN) application may render a PIN user interface. The PIN may be received at the PIN application and sent to the payment processing service. The transaction may be completed based at least in part on an indication from the payment processing service that the PAN and the PIN have been accepted.

Abstract: A method of using cryptocurrency to transact fiat currency purchases using conventional POS apparatus includes funding by a user of a cryptocurrency account that requires withdrawal transactions to be signed by both the user and a payment platform. Upon purchase initiation, a platform-issued authorization number is entered into a merchant's POS apparatus and transmitted to the platform. Upon verification of sufficient cryptocurrency, the platform transmits payment information to the user, and upon approval thereof by the user, the user transmits a user-signed cryptocurrency transaction to the platform, and the platform remits fiat currency to the merchant. As purchases continue during an aggregation period, each user-signed transaction is sufficient to fund the aggregated purchases. Upon termination of the aggregation period, the most recent user-signed transaction is executed to withdraw cryptocurrency from the user's account.
