  • Patent number: 7007289
Abstract: A CD changer mounted on a vehicle is supported in a floating manner to sufficiently damp vibrations and prevent a CD from skipping. Mounting plates and a pair of inner support plates are connected to each other at two front and two rear points by a first set of dampers, which buffer displacement of the mounting plates within a vertical plane relative to the inner support plates. The inner support plates and a pair of outer support plates opposite the inner support plates and supported on the base plates are connected to each other at two front and two rear points by a second set of dampers, which buffer displacement of the inner support plates within a vertical plane relative to the outer support plates. Suspended springs mounted between the mounting plate and the outer support plate exert a spring force to counteract the weight of the CD changer.

  • Patent number: 6567239
Abstract: A liquid resist is introduced between adjacent conductive lines of a coil pattern girdling around a magnetic core piece. When the liquid resist is cured, an insulating resin filler can be fixed between the adjacent conductive lines of the coil pattern. An insulating metallic layer is formed to extend over the insulting resin filler and the conductive lines of the coil pattern. Thereafter, the insulating metallic layer is subjected to a flattening grinding treatment until at least a part of the conductive line is exposed at a flattened surface. Since the liquid of the resist, of a higher fluidity, penetrates in every hole and corner between the adjacent conductive lines, the gap defined between the adjacent conductive lines is fully filled with the insulating material. No voids remain in the gap. The conductive line of the coil can be reliably prevented from corrosion or oxidation.

  • Patent number: 5276573
Abstract: A slider unit having a reading or reproducing head, with the head being adapted to float over a surface of an information recording disc. The slider unit includes a slider body having a flying height sensor with float surfaces on an underside thereof to generate a lifting force. A piezoelectrically or electrostatically controlled valve layer may be positioned over a vent communicating between an upper surface of the slider, with the vent opening to a recess for generating a negative lift component at an underside of the slider unit. The slider body is made from a ceramic base portion and includes a semiconductive insert portion of, for example, silicon or a photosensitive glass with an adjustment device being formed by utilization of microfabrication techniques such as deposition and etching.

  • Patent number: 5210672
Abstract: A diskette comprising a jacket, a liner material disposed within said jacket, a flat circular media having a magnetic coating on both sides disposed within said liner material, a hub attached at the center of said media, a plurality of optical positioning tracks on at least one of said sides of said media, and a media type code optically embossed on at least one of said sides of said media. The media type code contains information about the physical properties of the particular diskette that will allow a disk drive unit to auto-configure itself to allow optimum data communication and performance.

  • Patent number: 5170303
Abstract: An inductive thin film magnetic head carried on a substrate having a reduced susceptibility to the "glitch" effect or "remote read" effect. The inductive thin film head uses a three point approach using hard axis only drive fields, narrow paddles and shortened pole tips which are spaced apart from a saw alley when the substrate is sliced.

  • Patent number: 4851938
Abstract: Disclosed is a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus including a cassette door openably provided at a cassette port, and a cassette loading mechanism for conveying a cassette between a cassette inserted position and a cassette loaded position. This apparatus further includes a means for detecting the opening of the door of the cassette port; and a control means for starting a cassette unloading operation only if it has been detected by the means for detecting the opening of the door that the door is closed when a cassette unloading trigger button for starting the cassette unloading operation is operated after the cassette has been inserted or loaded.
