Abstract: A package for carrying and transporting a pizza product or like food article in which a combination device is used both to support a top panel of the package and prevent it from contacting the pizza product and to slice the pizza product at the place of consumption.
Abstract: A puck is provided for releasably gripping a closure element to be moved along a predetermined path and mated to a container. The puck includes a main body and a gripper assembly associated with the main body for releasably gripping the closure element. The gripper assembly comprises first and second opposing arms connected to the main body. The first arm has two first gripper members mounted thereto and the second arm has two second gripper members mounted thereto. The first and second arms are movable between a retracted position and a gripping position. The first gripper members are rotatable for effecting rotation of the closure element to permit the closure element to be mated to the container. The gripper assembly further includes first and second spring-biased support members connected to the first and second arms for movement between first and second positions.
Abstract: Reverse gating is added to a conventional compression molding machine so that when the molding cavity is filled with material in excess of the amount required to mold a part, the material flows from the cavity to a pressure chamber to be vented. Pressure in the chamber allows back flow of the material from the chamber to the molding cavity during cooling to compensate for shrinkage.
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to realize a DTF control in a wide frequency range and a noiseless high-speed replay at several tens of times the normal relay speed without degradation of picture quality. It is also an object to provide an optimum contact between the head and the tape at all times by performing the tension control with high precision and in wide frequency range.A pair of supply side stationary pins 10a.sub.1, 10a.sub.2 and a supply side movable pin 9a driven by a supply side tape actuator 11a are provided on the magnetic tape supply side of the head cylinder that has a rotary head H. By controlling the supply side tape actuator 11a to move the movable pin 9a, the tension of the magnetic tape T at the head cylinder can be controlled. When the tape is replayed at speed different from the recording speed, the supply side tape actuator 11a and a takeup side tape actuator are operated differentially from each other to perform a good tracking.

Abstract: A universal laminated base board assembly for connecting an integrated circuit device to a pcb has a series of alternating, overlying, conductive and insulating layers with two of the conductive layers providing ground and current lines on respective opposite faces. A plurality of through-holes extend through the layers and insulated from the conductive layers for receiving respective socket forming body portions of contact elements selected from signal, current and grounding types with the signal contact elements remaining insulated from the conductive layers and the current and grounding types having conductive layer connecting portions bridging the insulation into connection with the current and ground layers respectively. The contact elements are inserted in those through holes which are aligned with signal, current and ground line terminal lead pins, respectively, of the particular device chosen, adapting the base board to any one of a variety of different devices.
Abstract: A golf bag and accessory carrier encompasses both an apparatus and method which serves the utility of a golfer both in carrying his golf bag, carrying his accessories, providing a water resistant carrying compartment, a basket type storage area, a self righting liquid refreshment carrier and a golf ball holder. These structures are enabled while still fully enabling a folding function, to enable the golf bag cart to be conveniently carried and stowed in the trunk or back seat of a car. The golf bag cart and accessory carrier provides a carriage and utility area wider than the golf bag being carried, both for stability and enhanced convenience.

Abstract: A coaxial connector plug and method for securing a coaxial cable in the plug without the need for crimping, trimming, or soldering the tip of the plug. A preformed solder, solder paste, or any type of conductive adhesive is deposited in the closed tip of a coaxial connector plug. The center conductive cable is then inserted into the adhesive material of the closed tip and heated to melt or cure the adhesive material, thereby establishing an electrical connection.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hydrophilic material characterized in that the material comprises a copolymer composed of a monomer (A) having a polyalkylene oxide unit and a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond in its molecule, a methacrylic ester monomer or an acrylic ester monomer (B) and a monomer (C) having a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond other than the monomers (A) and (B), and the content of the monomer (C) is not less than 5% by weight and not more than 90% by weight, and a semipermeable membrane made therefrom. The present invention provides a hydrophilic material which can be dissolved in a solvent, can be easily formed and is excellent in antithrombotic and antifouling properties, and further provides an antithrombotic material and a semipermeable membrane. These materials can be appropriately used in the medical field and as water-absorbent and antifouling materials.
Abstract: A subscriber terminal for ISDN networks in the form of an ISDN telephone (11) is equipped with a keyboard (15,16), a display (14) and a connection socket (19) for another applications terminal (21-24), such as a printer and/or a keyboard and/or a computer, a PC for example. An interface is integrated into the ISDN telephone (11) for the cost-effective connection of an applications terminal, with which the ability to communicate between the applications terminal to be connected (21-24) and the ISDN network, can be established.

Abstract: A computer keyboard with multiple rows of cantilevered keys which are flexibly attached to first common mounting strips. The keyboard also has multiple rows of cantilevered sub-members flexibly attached to second common mounting strips, with the sub-members being aligned beneath associated keys. The cantilevered sub-members are in sliding contact with their associated cantilevered keys and induce a tactile "break over" sensation as the associated cantilevered keys are depressed. Each sub-member is designed to actuate a switch contact as the cantilevered key is depressed, whereby the computer keyboard can be constructed without a dome sheet.
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for producing inflation gas for use in inflating a vehicle occupant restraint are provided wherein a filter housed within a chamber of the apparatus effects gas redirection and particulate removal from at least a portion of the hot gas released from a gas generating material-containing first chamber of the apparatus, forming a hot gas having a significantly reduced particulate content. The apparatus includes a diffuser having one or more controlling orifices and exit ports to provide for the passage of inflation gas therethrough into the vehicle occupant restraint. There is at least an approximately 180.degree. cumulative change in gas direction between contacting the filter and the passage of the inflation gas into the diffuser.

Abstract: A key lock mechanism which can be made entirely of molded plastic parts having (1) a lock shell that can be snap fit in a mounting opening, wherein the shell is a predominantly cylindrical casing having a front end, a rear end, and an interior longitudinal channel; and (2) a lock plug, having a front end and a rear end, longitudinally housed within and rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the shell. The front end of the lock plug has a keyway allowing the insertion of a key to operate a double-acting, bar tumbler having a rocker body with a front peg and rear peg; an integral axle perpendicular to and connecting the center rocker body to a left and a right pivot pad upon which the bar tumbler pivots. The insertion of the key pivots the bar tumbler within the longitudinal shell channel and enables the key to turn the plug within the shell to operate the lock. The rear end of the plug receives a snap on actuation means such as a cam.
Abstract: A method for detecting the onset of labor in a patient, which comprises analyzing a body fluid of the patient for estriol concentration; correlating the concentration with a standard value; and relating a higher concentration of estriol relative to the standard value as an indication of potential onset of pre-term labor. The standard is usually selected from the group consisting of (1) a predetermined range of estriol concentrations for the body fluid in normal pregnant humans at a preselected time relative to normal, full-term delivery, or (2) a previously measured estriol concentration of the same body fluid of the same pregnant human. Use of this method does not require determination of an estriol/progesterone concentration ratio in the body fluid being test.

The mole is provided with a front portion having a cutting edge for engaging the internal wall of the existing pipe and to fracture the same. The rear portion of the mole clamps to a new pipe or a liner for the existing pipe. Accordingly, The mole is adapted to tow the new pipe or the liner through the fractured pipe. The head portion of the mole is tapered toward the front and has flat or scalloped sides defining therebetween integral cutting edges.
