Abstract: The present invention relates to a control system for a vehicle (100), the system comprising: control means operable to monitor an accelerator control signal of the vehicle and to control a powertrain of the vehicle to apply an amount of torque to one or more wheels (111, 112,114, 115) of the vehicle (100) corresponding to the accelerator control signal, the powertrain comprising prime mover means (121, 123); and means for determining whether the measured rate of acceleration of the vehicle and the accelerator control signal have an expected correspondence, wherein if the measured rate of acceleration and the accelerator control signal do not have the expected correspondence, the control means is operable to command a change in the amount of torque applied to the one or more wheels by the powertrain.
Abstract: A probe for interfacing with biological tissue includes a shank. A site to receive a signal from or stimulate the biological tissue is deployably connected to the shank. An insulated interconnect is connected to the site to guide signals or a fluid between the site and the shank. An actuator displaces the site away from a protected position on the shank to a deployed position in the biological tissue to be monitored or stimulated by the site.

Abstract: Subscription status notification techniques are provided. A request is received by at least one server from a user equipment (UE) to attach to a wireless packet data communication network. The server determines whether the UE is associated with an enterprise identified by a service provider of the network as a sponsor of a data service through the network, based on an account of the UE stored on the server. Upon determining that the UE is associated with the enterprise, a notification message is sent from the server to the UE, through an information element field within an existing message in a bearer channel of the network. The UE is configured to control access to the network responsive to the subscription status in the notification message. The UE permits access to a sponsored data service associated with the enterprise sponsor regardless of the UE's ability to access non-enterprise associated data services.

Abstract: A system stores a snapshot and an associated data structure or index to storage media to create a secondary copy of a volume of data. Abstract: A rebar clip is provided for joining a larger diameter rebar to a smaller diameter rebar transverse to the larger diameter rebar. In a first embodiment the clip includes diameter reducing tabs extending into upper arches of the clip for engagement with smaller diameter bars crossed on top of larger diameter bars. In a second embodiment the clip includes diameter reducing tabs extending into lower arches of the clip so that the clip may hold larger diameter bars on top of smaller diameter bars. A guide track for a clip applying gun is provided which allows for use with either version of clips and with clips of the same nominal diameter for joining equal size bars.

Abstract: A dishwasher method and apparatus providing an algorithm varying the speed of the recirculation pump that recirculates washing liquor present in the washing compartment so as to assure quiet pump operation is disclosed. The speed of the recirculation pump is varied by a control device that carries out the washing cycle. A true-running monitoring unit checks the operation of the recirculation pump. During a fill phase of the washing cycle, an inlet valve is opened, the recirculation pump is switched on and the algorithm provides stepped variation of the recirculation speed using a default value step, a test step in which a true running check is performed, and a modification step in which the default value is modified in response to the result of the test step, for use in the next iteration of the algorithm.
Abstract: An arm cord handle is disclosed that includes a flexible loop handle having a U shaped distal end and having proximal ends joined together at a common base portion. An external strap lies around and against the U shaped distal end in a storage position. The external strap has its ends fastened to the loop handle at a location spaced from the common base portion. The external strap can be deployed to an operational position away from the U shaped distal end of the flexible loop handle so that the arm cord handle is converted into a foot loop handle with the external strap positioned around a user's ankle while the U shaped distal end is positioned around the user's forefoot during exercise.
Abstract: A banknote handling apparatus includes: a plurality of storing units 52 configured to store a banknote; a transport unit 18 configured to transport the banknote having been put into a machine body 2 to each of the storing units 52; a recognition unit 40 disposed at the transport unit 18 and configured to read out a serial number of the banknote having been put into the machine body 2; and a control unit 70 configured to control the transport unit 18. The control unit 70 controls the transport unit 18 such that the banknote whose serial number has been read out by the recognition unit 40 and the banknote whose serial number has not been read out by the recognition unit 40 are stored into different storing units 52.
Abstract: In a method for controlling channel-switching, a current channel is displayed through a display unit. A channel-switching correlation table is looked up to obtain at least one candidate channel, which is predicted to be watched after the current channel. The current channel is switched to the at least one candidate channel when a channel-switching signal is received, such that the display unit displays the at least one candidate channel. The present invention also discloses a device for controlling channel-switching and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for storing the method for controlling channel-switching.
