  • Patent number: 4055867
Abstract: A mattress having an upper fluid containing chamber and a lower chamber filled with a material rendering it effectively more rigid and which surrounds a portion of the fluid chamber. The mattress is comprised of upper and lower flexible sheets which are provided with peripherally extending downwardly and upwardly struck flaps, respectively, at their outer peripheral ends. These flaps are sealed to each other in order to form a completely enclosed mattress. A tapered, angularly struck inner peripheral wall extends effectively between the upper and lower walls of the mattress in such manner that the upper end of the inner peripheral wall extends to the outer peripheral margin of the upper wall and the lower end of the inner peripheral wall terminates inwardly of the outer peripheral margin of the lower wall. In this way, the inner peripheral wall operates in conjunction with the upper wall in order to form an inner fluid chamber which is essentially coextensive with the entire upper surface of the upper wall.

  • Patent number: 4045831
Abstract: An improved bed sheet which can be used both as a bottom and top sheet. The bed sheet has a fabric panel sized to fit the mattress with which it is to be used. Open pockets at each end of the bed sheet serve to enclose the head and foot portions of a mattress when used as a bottom sheet. When used as a top sheet, one pocket is used to enclose the foot portion of a mattress while the second pocket is used to hold the edge of a blanket from contact with a person while sleeping.

  • Patent number: 4031578
Abstract: A travel pillow is described for use with seats which provide an accommodating headrest. This pillow cushions the user's neck and head in a cavity and thus provides support against `head-rolling` and the sudden `head-drooping` which usually results when a traveler attempts to sleep while sitting in a generally upright position.

  • Patent number: 4017943
Abstract: A bracket and clip for supporting an end of a cross-bar on which merchandise display hooks are placed comprises a bracket with a clip-supporting portion at right angles thereto. The clip-supporting portion has a small rectangular opening therethrough below the vertical center thereof. A molded plastic clip has a top portion with a depending main wall intermediate its ends, the top and the main wall at the bottom having cooperating cross-bar-holding means thereon. At the back of the top there is a depending, somewhat resilient clip portion arranged to frictionally clamp the clip-supporting portion of the bracket tightly against the depending main wall while a projection on the free end of the depending clip portion enters the opening in said clip-supporting portion of the bracket to prevent accidental or unauthorized removal of the clip from the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4011638
Abstract: A joint clamp particularly useful in joining braces of the type used temporarily to brace concrete slabs employed in tilt-up construction. The clamp can be installed onto a cylindrical brace without the employment of tools and without access to either end of the brace. It comprises, as a principal component, a tubular member that defines an opening having a generally cylindrical cross-section corresponding to the cross-sectional size of the brace. The wall forming the cylindrical opening is formed with a helically extending slot having a width, in an oblique direction, slightly larger than the cylindrical brace so that the clamp can be placed on the brace in an oblique position and then twisted into parallelism with the brace to snugly embrace the brace. The tubular member carries one or more secondary clamps for securing cooperating secondary brace members thereto.

  • Patent number: 3998080
Abstract: A pin tumbler lock has a housing, a cylindrical key plug provided with a keyway rotatable in the housing, a shear line between the plug and the housing, pin tumbler bores with aligned parts respectively in the housing and the key plug and spring pressed outer and inner pin tumblers in each bore. In one of the bores is an extra frangible graphite tumbler of substantially the diameter of the other pin tumblers. When construction key is inserted in the keyway the graphite tumbler and the other pin tumblers meets at the shear line permitting the lock to unlock. When construction is finished a conversion key is inserted in the keyway and the graphite tumbler is shifted to a position crossing the shear line whereupon the graphite tumbler is shattered by rotation of the key plug. Thereafter the lock can not be unlocked by the construction key but can be unlocked by the householder's key.
