Abstract: A temporaty badge fabrication system is provided. The system comprises a badge for attachment to a wearer having at least one surface coated with an ambient light sensitive coating thereon which when exposed to ambient light conditions for a specified period of time changes to a specified color. An apparatus is further provided for printing information on the badge. The apparatus comprises a source of radiation and a printing mask facing the radiation source. The mask comprises an opaque portion and a radiation transmissive portion. The radiation transmissive portion contains an information portion. A badge holding means is disposed so that the mask is located between the radiation source and the badge holding means. A means is provided for activating the radiation source for a period of time sufficient to print the information on the badge in the specified color.
