  • Patent number: 5835860
Abstract: Methods for operating and administering mobile station user groups in a wireless communications system. In one embodiment, a user group identification code is assigned to a plurality of mobile stations to form a user group, wherein the number of mobile stations in the user group is less than the total number of mobile stations in the entire communications system, and wherein the user group identification code is distinguishable from a unique mobile station identification code associated with each mobile station in the user group. A page message from the system to the user group is transmitted using the user group identification code when a terminating call to the user group is requested. A user group specific page indication is then generated at the mobile stations indicating to a user of each mobile station that the page message has been received. A page response message is then transmitted to the system from mobile stations whose users acknowledge the page indication.

  • Patent number: 5834867
Abstract: An apparatus for electromagnetically and rotationally vibrating a rotary body that is supported by bearings. The apparatus comprises a ring-shaped magnet bipolarly magnetized and mounted coaxially on a shaft of the rotary body, a ring-shaped stator having a coil and adapted to generate a rotating magnetic field by controlling an electric current supplied to the coil, and a frequency variable vibration power source adapted to supply alternating electric power to the coil in the stator. The distance between a location of a magnetic pole in the stator and an axis of the shaft is different than the distance between a location of a magnetic pole in the magnet and the axis of the shaft. The magnet and the stator are disposed so as to be adjacent to each other. Thus a rotational exciting force is applied to the rotary body by an interaction of the rotating magnet field generated by the stator with the magnet.

  • Patent number: 5833580
Abstract: An improved grip exerciser has a grip frame having a pair of handles and a receiving head disposed at the intersection of the two handles, and a gear-like adjusting member housed in the receiving head. The receiving head has a central hole and an axial split at the bottommost area and two axially extended protrusions each having a triangular cross section and disposed adjacent the split symmetrically. Each protrusion has a retaining cavity on its inner face respectively. Each dentiform rib of the adjusting member has a pair of retaining projections at the middle thereof. The receiving head has an upper area above the two symmetrical triangular protrusions which has a larger diameter than that of a lower area defined between the protrusions so as to permit the adjusting member to shift slightly when the grip exerciser is subject to force. The adjusting member has a through hole having multilateral curved sides. The pitch between two dentations of the gear-like adjusting member is a constant.

  • Patent number: 5832998
Abstract: A resettable well stimulation tool is lowerable into a well bore on a length of tubing through which pressurized fluid may be forced into the tool to inflate a packer portion carried by the tool and then discharge a stimulation fluid into a portion of the well bore sealed off by the packer portion. During the inflation cycle of the tool pressurized fluid is forced downwardly into an annular tool body inflation chamber that communicates with an inflatable packer carried by the tool body. A perforated tube member coaxially carried in the inflation chamber serves to vertically distribute the inflation pressure along the length of the packer and assure its even inflation. In a straddle packer embodiment of the tool inflation and stimulation passages extend internally through the tool and are sealingly separated by an internal crossover structure, with the inflation passage being in communication with upper and lower packer members.

  • Patent number: 5833134
Abstract: A wireless remote temperature sensing and control thermostat system for regulating air ducted air conditioning systems incorporating a normal mode and a remote control mode, including a combination thermostat and radio-frequency receiver unit, a radio-frequency transmitter, and an adjustable register. In the normal mode, a reference temperature is set by the thermostat for the temperature throughout the entire air conditioned structure. In the remote control mode, the local temperature sensing and control functions of the thermostat are disabled and the transmitter unit will take over the temperature sensing at the remote site which, in turn, then will control the thermostat unit. As a result, the users will be able to more accurately control their own personal environment.
