  • Patent number: 11633088
Abstract: An endoscope eyepiece grasping mechanism includes a base part with an arcuate wall portion defining a base part wall opening between the base part arcuate wall portion circumferential ends and a rotatable part with a rotatable arcuate wall portion defining a rotatable part arcuate wall opening between the rotatable arcuate wall portion circumferential ends. A path guide rotates and axially moves the rotatable part relative to the base part between an open and closes state. A biasing device acts to bias the rotatable part toward the closed state, whereby an endoscope eyepiece may be pushed through an endoscope eyepiece side opening to a coupled position in the open state and the rotatable part rotates to the closed state and moves axially toward the base to retain the eyepiece in the coupled position.

  • Patent number: 11628020
Abstract: An insertable robot for minimally invasive surgery includes a tube array having a guide tube housed within a straightening tube. The guide tube includes a curved working end. The guide tube may be axially translated and rotated relative to the straightening tube such that the curved working end is constrained inside the straightening tube, causing the curved working end to achieve a smaller dimension. The tube array is inserted into a working channel on an endoscope, resectoscope or trocar. Once the tube array is inserted, the curved working end of the guide tube is translated forward beyond the distal end of the working channel, allowing the curved working end to return to its pre-formed shape. A surgical tool is inserted through the guide tube for an operation. The straightening tube allows the guide tube curved working end to be temporarily straightened during insertion and removal of the tube array.

  • Patent number: 11625825
Abstract: A method of displaying an area of interest within a surgical site includes modeling a patient's lungs and identifying a location of an area of interest within the model of the patient's lungs. The topography of the surface of the patient's lungs is determined using an endoscope having a first camera, a light source, and a structured light pattern source. Real-time images of the patient's lungs are displayed on a monitor and the real-time images are registered to the model of the patient's lungs using the determined topography of the patient's lungs. A marker indicative of the location of the area of interest is superimposed over the real-time images of the patient's lungs. If the marker falls outside of the field-of view of the endoscope, an arrow is superimposed over the real-time images to indicate the direction in which the marker is located relative to the field of view.

  • Patent number: 11589740
Abstract: A deployable and flexible tooltip camera is provided for integration within a shaft of an endoscopic tool. The tooltip camera includes a camera mounted to a distal tip of a curved tube which is capable of rotational and translational movement to provide a wide field of view of a tooltip of the endoscopic tool during an endoscopic procedure. The tube retains its curved shape when in use to provide a unique perspective view of the tooltip, but can then be withdrawn into a shaft of the endoscopic tool such that the entire tooltip camera and tube are retained within the shaft of the endoscopic tool and can pass through a cannula. The curved tube may be formed of a super-elastic memory alloy like Nitinol and pre-shaped into an s-curve using a two-step heat treatment process to attain the necessary curvature, and further laser-patterned with holes to attain the necessary flexibility.
