Abstract: Disclosed is method and apparatus for creating a statistical average model of an enamel-dentine junction. The method includes steps of acquiring CT image data of a tooth; segmenting the CT image data to obtain a surface of an enamel-dentine junction; segmenting the obtained surface using a curvature-based clustering algorithm to remove a bottom of the enamel-dentine junction; spherical-parameterizing, by means of spherical harmonic analysis, the surface of the enamel-dentine junction after removal of the bottom; and aligning different samples of the tooth to obtain a statistical average model.

Abstract: A bot conflict-resolution service agent (BCRSA) for addressing conflicts between bots in a target domain is disclosed. The BCRSA is configured to receive data from a target domain that includes changes made to a content of the target domain, analyze the data to identify a first change made to the content by a first bot and a second change made to the content by a second bot, determine based on the analysis that the first and second changes conflict, determine that the first and second bots are in conflict, select an amelioration action to be executed to resolve the conflict between the first and second bots from a plurality of available amelioration actions, and resolve the conflict by executing the selected amelioration action.

Abstract: A method for identifying stochastic information of a heterogeneous material utilizes physical loading measurements that are input into a global optimization process. The optimization process executes, in parallel, a force-driven non-linear finite element simulation and a displacement-driven finite element simulation of a constitutive model of the heterogeneous material. The constitutive models model the spatially varying random material properties (i.e. stochastic properties) using the Karhunen-Loeve expansion, thereby introducing the stochastic parameters, including spatial mean, spatial variance, and correlation length for example into the models. Stress and strain values for both the force-driven and displacement driven finite element analyzes are input into an objective function, whereupon the finite element simulations are updated after each iteration of the optimization process is performed until the objective function is minimized to a desired level.

Abstract: Storage system and application intercommunication is provided. A first kernel-mode module determines a first event corresponding to an operational parameter of a first node based, at least in part, on a shared namespace accessible by the first kernel-mode module and a second kernel-mode module. An interrupt is issued based on the first event from the first kernel-mode module to the second kernel-mode module via an interface. The second kernel-mode module issues a second event to a second node, wherein the second event corresponds to the object of the shared namespace.

Abstract: A computer system that simulates a workload of a storage system including a non-transitory storage medium including instruction code for the computer system, wherein the instruction code, when executed on the computer system, performs steps as follows: obtaining configuration data regarding first components of the first storage system including at least one RAID group; obtaining performance data including workload information of the first storage system; configuring second components of a second storage system including at least one corresponding RAID group corresponding to the at least one RAID group of the first storage system, based on the obtained configuration data; and operating the second storage system using a simulated workload based on the obtained performance data, resulting in a front loading of the second storage system equivalent to a front loading of the first storage system.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for correlating event notifications between agents in a management network are provided. An agent constructs a network notification in response to receiving an event notification. If the received event notification is associated with a prior notification already received and stored by the agent, a correlation attribute is added to the constructed network notification. If the received notification matches a peer agent notification category that another agent in the management network is interested in receiving, the constructed network notification is sent to the other agent.

Abstract: A method for exchanging data between processes includes: establishing a connection with a server process via a server interface obtained by encapsulating a port; receiving a data process request carrying a name of the server process from a client process via a client interface obtained by encapsulating the port; sending the data process request to the server process via the server interface; establish a connection between the client process and the server process according to the name of the server process; forwarding data sent from the client process to the server process via the server interface; and forwarding data processed by the server process to the client process via the client interface.

Abstract: A virtual machine/function of repository is used to collect information for use in providing a particular service to a particular user in a network. The virtual machine/function of repository is dynamically instantiating in a front end of the network upon receiving a request to provision the particular service for the particular user. The collected information pertains only to providing the particular service to the particular user. The virtual machine/function of repository is synchronized with one or more consolidated databases in a back end of the network. The virtual machine/function of repository is deleted upon discontinuation of the particular service for the particular user.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention disclose a method for customizing a parameter value in a software program. The method includes one or more processors receiving one integrated input requesting a change to the original value of a parameter in a software program to a new value of the parameter and defining a persistence level of the new value of the parameter. The method further includes one or more processors changing the original value of the parameter to the new value of the parameter based on the one integrated input and setting the persistence level of the new value based on the one integrated input.

Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for integrating a transactional middleware platform with a centralized audit framework for a SOA middleware platform. An audit provider in the centralized audit framework can be provided as a plug-in module to the transactional middleware platform, and registered as an internal audit service therein. The internal audit service can be advertised on an audit server, and can process audit requests from within the transactional middleware platform. One or more configuration files can be provided to the audit provider, for use in generating audit data for audit events occurring in one or more components in the transactional middleware platform. The audit provider itself can be configured to represent an audit aware component within the centralized audit framework, thereby utilizing a plurality of functionalities available in the centralized audit framework, including saving the audit data in a central data store.

Abstract: Aspects extend to methods, systems, and computer program products for intent-based interactions with cluster resources. One or more computer systems are joined in a computer system cluster to provide defined computing functionality (e.g., storage, compute, network, etc.) to an external system. In one aspect, a data collection intent facilitates collection and aggregation of data to form a health report for one or more components of the computer system cluster. In another aspect, a command intent facilitates implementing a command at one or more components of the computer system cluster. Services span machines of the computer system cluster to abstract lower level aspects of data collection and aggregation and command implementation for higher level aspects of data collection and aggregation and command implementation. Services can be integrated into an operating system to relieve users from having to have operating system knowledge.

Abstract: A host server is configured to receive information related to metrics and configurations associated with computer resources of a computer infrastructure, derive and resolve the information into capacity, performance, reliability, and efficiency, as related to attributes associated with the computer resources, including compute attributes such as application, virtual machine (VM) attributes, storage attributes, and network attributes. The host server provides the metrics and attributes in a matrix configuration as a graphical user interface (GUI) on an output device, such as a display. The GUI is configured to provide a user with a single point of view into the computer infrastructure by converging application, compute, storage, and network attributes into capacity, performance, reliability, and efficiency concepts. With such a configuration, the GUI allows the end user to readily review the environments for potential issues in a time efficient manner, as well as solutions provided by the GUI.

Abstract: Application compatibility is facilitated by use of library operating systems. Library operating systems can encapsulate portions of an application likely to break application compatibility. An application can be bound to a compatible library operating system that operates over a host operating system. Furthermore, library operating system version can be greater than, equal, or less than the version of the host operating system. Consequently, both backward and forward compatibility is enabled.

Abstract: Access information is received for a data sender interface accessible over a network and a data receiver interface accessible over the network. A set of navigation steps necessary to access data fields on the sender interface are determined. The data fields on the data sender interface are automatically mapped to data fields on the data receiver interface using at least one data mapping rule, such that a set of data field mappings is created. A data transfer scenario is generated using the set of navigation steps and the set of data field mappings, such that the data transfer scenario specifies a set of operations for transferring data from the sender interface to the receiver interface. The data transfer scenario is stored to computer readable media and can be executed any number of times to transfer data from the sending interface to the receiving interface.

Abstract: In accordance with one or more aspects, a request to run an application is received. The application has an associated tune manifest that identifies one or more resources that the application may use. The tune manifest is compared to a device resource record, and a check is made, based at least in part on the comparing, whether the one or more resources identified in the tune manifest can be satisfied by the device. If the one or more resources identified in the tune manifest can be satisfied by the device, then the application is run; otherwise, a notification of a conflict between the application and the device is presented. Additionally, when the application exits, a device tune state that identifies a content source to which the device was tuned prior to running the application can be retrieved and the device restored to this device tune state.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing an application programming interface (API) as a service. In embodiments, a client provides code to be executed along with a configuration file for that code. Based on that, virtual machine(s) and load balancer(s) may be selected, a domain name service configured, and throttling and scaling configured. Through this, an API as a service may be provided on behalf of a client with minimal configuration required by the client or an administrator of a web service platform that provides the API as a service.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present executes a sequence of a plurality of application programming interfaces. Request objects are generated for the application programming interfaces of the sequence. Each request object is generated in accordance with a common object model. Execution of each application programming interface is enabled in an order of the sequence to process a corresponding request object and generate a corresponding response object containing results. Each response object is generated in accordance with the common object model and includes information from the corresponding request object aggregated with the results. Further, each request object for a succeeding application programming interface in the sequence includes the aggregated information from a response object of a prior executed application programming interface in the sequence.

Abstract: Filtering audible notifications to the user from a device based on an enhanced white list with a static white list set by the user and a temporary white list. The temporary white list includes expiring entries. The entries of the temporary white are based on keywords and context extracted from the applications and activities on the device that are associated with a dependency list between applications of the device and context. If a notification is present on the temporary white list or the static list, the notification from the application audibly sound to the user through the device.
