Abstract: The present invention broadly comprises a computer-based method for determining a set of equity-indexed crediting parameters C for a selectable-term equity-indexed deposit product also having a set of profitability requirements R, a principal amount P, an account value A, a maximum term T, a set of lock-in formulas F, a selected term T?, an immediate credit I, and a guaranteed rate G, with R, P, A, T, C, and F determined at the time of product purchase and T?<=T determined by the purchaser after the time of purchase and I and G determined by the seller at T? according to the set of formulas F, with the immediate credit I being added to the account value A at time T? and interest being credited to the account value A at the rate G from time T? to time T.

Abstract: Software aggregates and integrates credit exposure and credit data across accounting, trading and operational systems within an organization and generates views of available credit in light of the exposure and credit limits. A comprehensive model of exposure to all counterparties, across all of their divisions and subsidiaries, is assembled, enabling the creation of a hierarchical view of each counterparty that models its real-world parent-child relationships. Credit limits are set across the enterprise, supporting the organization's unique methodology and business process, and on a granular basis, incorporating factors such as external credit ratings, internal credit scores, commodity, geographic region, deal duration, and security instruments. Credit, transactions, and risk are then determined at any level in the hierarchy.

Abstract: A method and system for processing tax pertaining to a transaction between a seller and buyer. The transaction triggers a tax due to a tax imposing jurisdiction (TIJ). The transaction has been authorized to be financed for the tax due to the TIJ by a financing network. First transaction data fields are received as data that includes an indication of the tax due to the TIJ and is sufficient for determining the tax due to the TIJ. Second transaction data fields are generated as a copy of the first transaction data fields. A tax transaction identification is assigned to the transaction and appended to the second transaction data fields. An audit and verify process is performed on the second transaction data fields. Results of the audit and verify process are merged into the second transaction data fields. The second transaction data fields are transferred to a transaction data warehouse.

Abstract: A system for providing banking services by use of a mobile communication system, in which a variety of financial transactions including inquiry of at least one financial account of at least one financial institution, transfer and remittance, and loan and its interest payment are processed by the mobile communication system. The system includes: the mobile communication system, provided with an integrated circuit (IC) card and a memory device to which a banking application is installed, for transmitting and receiving data by wireless, the IC card being stored with information on a personal identification number (PIN) and information related to financial accounts including a loan account.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for implementing an exception handling framework are described. An exception register is configured to store multiple error messages and rules comprising instructions for responding to the error messages. An exception handler in communication with first and second process components is configured to: detect an error message generated by at least one of the first and second process components; determine that the error message is stored in the exception register; and respond according to a rule corresponding to the error message. The rule uses information pertaining to a business scenario being implemented in conjunction with the first and second process components, and the business scenario is at least partially unavailable to at least one of the first and second process components.

Abstract: In a computer system and a computer-implemented method for determining a damage index indicative of damage caused by an earthquake to a portfolio of objects associated with a geographical area, local portfolio replacement value indices are stored assigned to object or grid coordinates of the geographical area. For each coordinate having a local portfolio replacement value index assigned to it, a local damage index is calculated from location, depth, and magnitude data related to the earthquake and from the local portfolio replacement value index, using local vulnerability and attenuation parameters. The damage index is calculated by aggregating the local damage indices for the grid coordinates. For any size of the geographical area and for any resolution of the grid, a damage index reflecting the geographical distribution of the portfolio objects can be determined, without need for a network of seismological measurement stations distributed in the geographical area.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for allowing financial transactions to be conducted using mobile phones. A payer initiates a transaction by sending a payment request message from a mobile phone which specifies the payee and amount to be paid. Payees are identified by unique aliases, which are maintained in a database. Methods for assembling the enrollment and alias database are included.

Abstract: An organization electronically receives a payment from a customer of the organization based on a current time. If the current time is before a predetermined time relating to an identified payment due date, a non-real-time payment system is employed to effectuate the payment from the customer. The non-real-time payment system processes the payment at a later time on or before the identified payment due date such that the payment is applied to the customer on or before the identified payment due date. If the current time is after a predetermined time relating to the identified payment due date, a real-time payment system is employed to effectuate the payment from the customer. The real-time payment system processes the payment at the current time such that the payment is applied to the customer at the current time.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a central (root) directory and/or network of directories to linked credit accounts. Each linked credit account accepts, or is responsive to incoming payments or credits, without the need for access numbers, account numbers, routing numbers, or the like. The payment/deposit account may be set up as a deposit only account (e.g., it cannot pay out or be debited in the traditional sense). In this way, it can be effective in eliminating many of the security requirements of a traditional financial account.

Abstract: A method of increasing the collection of debts owed a government agency by collecting additional names associated with a debtor, verifying that an additional name represents the same person as the debtor, and providing those additional names to the government agency that is owed by the debtor. After the additional names are added, future payments to the debtor can be offset by the amount owed.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for optimizing amounts collected in an offset action where a creditor garnishes funds from a debtor's deposits account to satisfy delinquent debt payments. In operation, embodiments of the present invention leverage a deposits account's transaction history to detect a deposit pattern for the account and, based on the detected pattern, predict the date of the next large deposit to the garnishable account. An offset associate, using the present invention, can then schedule the offset action to occur on the expected date of the next large deposit.

Abstract: The invention provides a system and methods for multifactor authentication of a mobile device for access to an electronic account. The mobile device may serve as one factor of a multifactor authentication process. A time based activation code may be generated in order to enroll an electronic account for mobile access.

Abstract: To electronically present bills and request payment of presented bills, billing information representing a bill of a biller for a payee, and an associated selectable payment indicator having a first linking function, are received from a first network site associated with a bill presentment entity via a first communications link over a communications network. The received billing information and payment indicator are displayed. An input representing a selection of the displayed payment indicator is received. Based on the receipt of this input, the first linking function is activated to establish a second communications link over the communications network to a second network site, different that the first network site, associated with a bill payment entity, and to transmit a request to pay the represented bill on behalf of the payee to the second network site via the second communications link.

Abstract: A notification service protects different user accounts from being exposed to fraudulent activity when one of the accounts is compromised. The notification service instructs an issuer of the compromised account to automatically close, freeze or place the other associated accounts on a watch list to prevent potential exposure to the other accounts due to a security breach associated with the compromised account. The card holder may receive notification of the compromised account from the notification service or the issuer via a mobile device. The mobile device may directly contact other issuers with one request to restrict access to any accounts associated with the compromised account. In the event that the compromised account is loaded on the mobile device, the account is cancelled and a new account is loaded to the mobile device.

Abstract: Systems and methods of trading items on an electronic trading system according to the invention are provided. The embodiments of the invention are based at least in part on a new order type. The new order type is an only at best order type, whereby trades are preferably only executed at the best price the item is being bought or sold.

Each processing unit is formed of a respective field programmable gate array (FPGA) and performs a respective analytical operation. Abstract: A method for modeling a current expected prepayment spread for a mortgage-backed security (MBS) as a function of a current refinance activity is disclosed. According to various embodiments, the method comprises the steps of computing a historical MBS prepayment spread value and determining a historical refinance activity value for each of a plurality of historical time value. The historical MBS prepayment spread value and the corresponding historical refinance activity value define a data pair. The method further comprises the step of processing the data pairs corresponding to the plurality of historical time values to determine terms of a multiple-term mathematical formula that is used to calculate the current expected prepayment spread, wherein the terms of the formula include as a variable the current refinance activity.
