Abstract: A system for personalized navigation of computer screens. The system can comprise one or more electronic data processors. The system can also include a module configured to execute on the more or more electronic data processors, where the module can be configured to display a plurality of icons retained in a file associated with a particular user on a computer screen. The icons can comprise one or more assigned icons from an assigned icons list and candidate icons from a candidate icons list, where both the assigned and candidate icons are derived from a pool of icons. Also, the module can be configured to assign an icon to a currently displayed screen by utilizing a selection tool and placing the icon in the assigned icons list, where the icon is selected from the candidate icons list. The module can be further configured to return to the assigned screen when the assigned icon is selected.

Abstract: Alignment guides configured for velocity-sensitive behavior are disclosed. In one embodiment, during a user interface element move gesture, the gesture velocity is determined, and while moving the user interface element during the gesture, the user interface operates in a first or a second state with respect to displaying alignment guides. When the velocity of the user gesture exceeds a predefined velocity threshold, the display of the user interface is maintained in the first state, which does not include visibly displaying alignment guides. When the velocity of the user gesture is less than the predefined velocity threshold, the user interface is displayed in a second state that includes visibly displaying one or more alignment guides. In some embodiments, gesture velocity is used to set alignment guide attraction strength.

Abstract: An application program capable of operating on a prescribed operating system includes a plurality of functional processing units, a window processing unit allowing a window corresponding to any of the functional processing units operated in a case where any of the plural functional processing units is operated, a minimization unit minimizing the window, and a setting selection unit selecting setting information for the minimization. The minimization unit minimizes the window based on the setting information selected by the setting selection unit, and the setting selection unit is capable of selecting the setting information with respect to each of the plural functional processing units.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes: a display control section for displaying a window showing a first icon and a second icon of a predetermined display size on a display screen. The display control section reduces the display size of at least either the first icon or the second icon so as not to overlap with each other if it determines that the icons overlap with each other when it alters a display area of the window being displayed on the display screen.

Abstract: Example embodiments provide apparatuses and methods directed to a system for presenting customized advertisements and branding in conjunction with an audio-visual presentation, e.g., an online slideshow with audio enhancement, played on a player module on an access device. In example embodiments, the online slideshow includes a customized pre-roll advertisement, a customized post-roll advertisement, and/or a customized banner advertisement on the final slide of the slideshow. The system also might customize the GUI views displayed by the player module which plays the online slideshow and/or the player landing page on the CDN that hosts the player module. Abstract: Disclosed is a method (600) of scrolling a list (510) including video items (504-508) on a display device (501). The list is scrolled to modify a displayed subset of the items. The scrolling of the list is terminated and at least one of the displayed video items (507) is played after the termination, and the playback of the at least one displayed video item is then adapted after a predetermined period of time. The terminating of the scrolling may be in response to a user input. The displayed video items generally comprise one selected focus item the playback of which is adapted differently from the remaining displayed video items. The adapting is preferably to stop the playback of the video items.

Abstract: Synchronization between multiple data repositories is described which retrieves tree structures that represent the hierarchical organization of the data repositories that will be or are synchronized. One of tree structures is parsed for data nodes, while the other tree structures are parsed for each such data node to find matching data nodes having corresponding hierarchies. Moved nodes are identified when a matching node is found that does not have the same hierarchy in its tree structure. Similarly, deleted nodes are identified when a node is found with no match in a controlling tree structure. Data structure lists are compiled noting matching relationships and hierarchies and also noting moved and deleted nodes and their relationships with the rest of the formerly corresponding nodes. Using these data structure lists, a synchronization interface is generated for display to a user that visually compares the synchronization of the multiple data repositories.

Abstract: A method for providing, by a remote machine, access to a desk band associated with a resource on a local machine includes receiving, by a first agent on the remote machine, an identification of a desk band associated with a resource on a local machine. The first agent, in communication with a shell on the remote machine, maintains a taskbar window in a remote desktop environment. The taskbar window includes at least one window associated with a resource provided by the remote machine and a window region representing the desk band by using graphical data stored on the remote machine. The first agent transmits, to a second agent on the local machine, window attribute data and output data associated with the taskbar window in the remote desktop environment. The second agent displays at least a portion of the received output data in a local window on a local desktop environment.

Abstract: Collaboration by a plurality of users in an application. The application may include processing logic and a user interface. The user interface may include at least one control element adapted to receive collaborative input, where the at least one control element may be linked to a collaboration utility. The collaboration utility may be adapted to generate the collaborative input for the control element based on the individual inputs of at least some of the plurality of users.

Abstract: Scroll wheels have simplified the movement of cursors and changes in focus as a users navigate their way through menus, lists, tables, and other objects typically found in graphical user interfaces. Also typical of navigation schemes driven by scroll wheels is the ability of the user to accelerate the rate of movement of the cursor or focus by spinning the scroll wheel faster. One issue with this behavior is that a user who over accelerates the scroll wheel will often wind up overshooting his intended target and reversing the direction of the scroll wheel several times. The embodiment addresses this problem by giving control of the speed of the cursor or focus movement to the object being navigated. If the granularity of the list, table, menu, or other objects become smaller, the object has the ability to filter the speed input of the scroll wheel.

Abstract: One aspect of the present invention includes adaptive techniques used to render dynamic web content for accessibility software applications, such as screen readers. In one embodiment, an operation for improving webpage browsing with accessibility software includes detecting if an accessibility software application is in use, tracking the position of user focus on the webpage, and presenting information to the user based on the position of user focus on the webpage. In a further embodiment, additional content is rendered on the webpage to screen reader applications, and is placed at the position of the screen reader focus in response to dynamic content appearing or changing on the webpage. This additional content is read by the screen reader to inform the user of the dynamic content change, and/or enable the user to quickly perform a specific action on the webpage.
