  • Patent number: 5794981
Abstract: In accordance with the invention, an improved packaging system for protection against the theft of goods by overlabeling comprises a layer of packaging material surrounding the goods, a label adhered to the packaging material, and a transparent film covering the label. In contrast with conventional packaging, the outer surface of the transparent film is provided with an antiadhesive coating to inhibit overlabeling. The transparent film can be smooth or textured. The advantage of texturing, as by embossing, is to reduce the surface area to which an overlabel can adhere. The antiadhesive coating is preferably a composite layer comprising a non-adhesive base coating of silicone and a layer of "tack kill" material such as an acrylic plasticizer for neutralizing a subsequently applied adhesive. The result is that a spurious label applied on the film over the original label readily disengages in the course of ordinary package handling.

  • Patent number: 5782494
Abstract: A printer note construction consisting of repositionable adhesive coated (discontinuously) substrates removably affixed onto a backsheet, such that the construction can pass through a personal computer printer without damage to the printer or to the article (wrinkling, tearing, folding, releasing, etc.). Typically, this construction would be pre-assembled and packaged in a manner similar to point of sale label stock. Alternatively, a preprinted backsheet template wherein, repositionable notes (such as Post-it.RTM. brand notes) from a typical pad of notes, are aligned with the template markings and then run through a personal computer printer.

  • Patent number: 5577297
Abstract: A door fastening member of a furniture hinge having a hinge cup for installation sunk in a recess in the rear surface of a door leaf. The hinge cup has a fastening flange engaging the inner surface of the door leaf. Projecting from the underside of the fastening flange, spaced from the hinge cup, are offset fastening pegs which engage in associated bores in the door leaf and which may each be fixed in the associated bore by means of a fastening element which is rotatable relative to the fastening flange.Due to eccentric mounting of the rotatable fastening element, knife-like anchoring ribs provided on the fastening element of the fastening peg are movable out of a position of the bores.
