  • Patent number: 12207096
Abstract: A unique code per pairing of each remote control to each controlled device (such as a TV or other media device) is used in infrared (IR) commands sent by the remote control for the device to detect if the remote control has been moved to a different room. The remote control supports both IR and short range wireless radio (e.g., Bluetooth®) commands. Both IR and Bluetooth® commands are sent on every key press of the remote control unit. When the IR command is received by the device, the device will check if the unique code is from a remote control unit currently paired to the device. If the unique code is not from a remote control unit currently paired to the device, the device will initiate pairing with the remote control unit and execute the command.

  • Patent number: 12199698
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for activating remote monitoring functionality of a personal wireless device associated with a released individual. After incarceration, former inmates are released under a variety of different circumstances, many of which require follow-up check-ins with case managers or other individuals. As part of their release, inmates often agree to multiple restrictions and requirements. In order to better monitor compliance with those requirements, a personal wireless device assigned to the released individual can be programmed with certain rules and automatically trigger when a violation is detected. As a result of a detected violation, the personal wireless device activates certain devices, such as a camera, microphone, etc., to capture data in order to remotely monitor the released individual. A case manager can also manually activate monitoring.

  • Patent number: 12160281
Abstract: A data concentrator makes a collection from electricity meters in a powerline communication network. The electricity meters are distributed in a plurality of classes, and are ordered, in each class, according to an overall risk of collision incurred in the powerline communication network. When the data concentrator seeks to address another electricity meter to be addressed in parallel to an electricity meter currently being addressed, the data concentrator seeks to maximise the number of the electricity meters addressed in parallel, prioritising the electricity meters in a sequencing of the classes and a sequencing according to an overall risk of collision. This other electricity meter must present a risk of collision with each of the electricity meters currently being addressed below a predefined threshold.
