  • Patent number: 10757647
Abstract: In one embodiment, a supervisory device in a network forms a virtual access point (VAP) for a node in the network. A plurality of access points (APs) in the network are mapped to the VAP as part of a VAP mapping and the node treats the APs in the VAP mapping as a single AP for purposes of communicating with the network. The supervisory device determines a traffic type of traffic associated with the node. The supervisory device assigns the node to a selected wireless channel based in part on the traffic type of the traffic associated with the node. The supervisory device controls the VAP to use the channel assigned to the node.

  • Patent number: 10694533
Abstract: Network scheduling in unlicensed spectrums is described. A scheduler can assess, at a first time, first conditions of an unlicensed spectrum, such as Long-Term Evolution unlicensed spectrum. Based at least partly on the first conditions, the scheduler can determine a schedule for transmitting data via the unlicensed spectrum. The scheduler can, for a first period of time, facilitate transmission of data between mobile devices that are communicatively coupled to the communication tower based at least partly on the schedule. At a second time after the first time, the scheduler can assess second conditions of the unlicensed spectrum and update the schedule based at least partly on the second conditions to generate an updated schedule. For a second period of time, the scheduler can facilitate transmission of data between the mobile devices based at least in part on the updated schedule.

  • Patent number: 10638509
Abstract: In order to maintain performance during wireless communication, a transmitting electronic device may selectively enable use of pre-authorization messages during communication with one or more receiving electronic devices. In particular, the transmitting electronic device may monitor a performance metric associated with the communication. If the performance metric is less than a threshold, the transmitting electronic device may selectively enable the use of the pre-authorization messages before communicating data to the one of the receiving electronic devices. Subsequently, the transmitting electronic device monitors a pre-authorization performance metric associated with the communication of the pre-authorization messages. If the pre-authorization performance metric is less than a pre-authorization threshold, the transmitting electronic device may selectively disable the use of the pre-authorization messages.
