Abstract: A self contained heated root canal dental instrument which combines the operations of a root canal spreader, a root canal condenser and a root canal filling material heater is provided. The instrument has batteries in its handle for use as a power source for heating root canal filling material and employs a non-corrosive dental tool that has a resistive element in its tip to provide the heating when electricity from the batteries is conducted through the tip. A method for making the dental tool is provided which comprises threading a resistive element through a cannula which is used as a dental tool.

Abstract: A hair setter unit for providing unusual forms of hair curling including a base and a plurality of heating posts on the base, a plurality of hair rollers having axial bores therein and fitting about the heating posts, the rollers having orthogonally asymmetrical cross-sections, and at least some of the rollers having different cross-sections than other of the rollers, such as rhombic, elliptical, and triangular, and spaced teeth along axially-aligned edges of the rollers.

Abstract: A metallic orthodontic wire is coated with a layer of tooth color material and a clear layer of material covers the tooth color material to allow the tooth color material to be seen through the layer of clear material. A preferred material for the tooth color layer is a plastic such as polyethylene or polyurethane. A preferred material for the clear layer is a silicone elastomer. Several processes for fabricating various embodiments of coated metal orthodontic wires are also disclosed.

Abstract: A dental articulator, having an interim used tripod, reproduces the relationships of the jaws and teeth of respective dental patients. Their upper or maxillary jaw and their lower or mandibular jaw dental casts are positionable in their neuromuscular resting position, or in their full teeth contacting centric occlusion position. Lower and upper trays, are formed like art portions of full display dental casts, and adjustably connected together in opposed disposition, by a U shaped rigid upright support. Dental plaster is used to position and to secure the lower dental cast in the lower tray, while also using, during this interim, a tripod especially preadjusted to the cant of the occlusal plane of a patient's teeth, as determined and recorded from an observance of a patient's lateral cephalometric head X-ray film.

Abstract: The eyebrow cover element comprises an elongate, arcuate body made of material selected from synthetic material, metal, and precious metals, and having on one side thereof, a concavity having an inner surface. The concavity defines a containment region for accommodating an eyebrow, and the inner surface is provided with an adhesive for attaching the cover element to an eyebrow. On another side of the body, ornamental motifs may be provided which can match other personal accessories such as bracelets, rings and brooches.

Abstract: A dental floss dispenser is disclosed, which may be adapted for insertion into an existing cavity found in pump type tooth paste dispensers, or the dental floss dispenser may be used separately without modification. The dental floss dispenser has a housing formed of a base, a circumferential wall extending from the base, and a cap secured to the circumferential wall. A chamber is thus formed between the base, the circumferential wall and the cap for rotatably receiving a dental flose spool therein. The cap has an aperture therethrough, and a hinged portion which may be raised or lowered; a knife blade is secured to the hinged portion in spaced relation from the aperture, and the dental floss is drawn through the aperture and closely received between the knife blade and the hinged portion, and biased to cut the end of the dental floss.

A double-faced pile fabric (3) is used on the working surface and this double-faced pile fabric (3) has a dense cut pile (4) on one surface and a loop pile (5) on the other surface. Since the arrangement is such that the cut pile (4) is positioned on the outer side of the bag body (2), the front end of the cut pile (40 is applied to the skin; thus, it can be used conveniently and provides an effective cleaning effect.

Abstract: A comb or brush includes a combing body having a combing portion implanting thereon a plurality of combing units and densely covered by a layer of bristles which collects thereon combings or brushings and forms a smooth contact surface for preventing one's hair from being broken as it is combed a result of being caught between the body and the roots of the combing units.

Abstract: A vanity case includes a receptable and a cover hinged with each other at rear ends thereof, the cover being maintained in a closed position by engagement between latch tongues formed on the receptacle and the cover. The receptacle is formed at the front end with a recess within which is slidably disposed a push piece having a front wall and an arm member integrally formed with the front wall through a first flexible section. The arm member has a leveled V-shape including a lower half and an upper half extending in a reverse direction with respect to the lower half, the lower and upper halves being integrally jointed together at a second flexible section. The upper end of the arm is positioned closely adjacent the lower surface of the cover, and at least the upper half of the arm is arranged to, upon inward movement of the push piece, swing about the second flexible section whereby the upper end forces the cover in an upward direction to release the engagement of the latch tongues.

Abstract: A hair cutting guide is comprised of a plurality of spaced-apart segments, each of which is formed of a pair of legs having longitudinal axes disposed along intersecting planes such that each segment is generally triangular in cross-section. The guide includes a connecting spine or the like for linking the segments along their top portion to produce a unitary structure having a predetermined height measured from the top surface between the segments along a line perpendicular to a plane defined by the distal ends of the legs in the segments.

Abstract: An artificial fingernail material is disclosed. It contains base-treated bone powder of a particular particle size in a curable adhesive. A process for applying this material to the nail by applying an adhesive, adding bone powder and repeating as needed is disclosed as is the process for preparing the particular bone powder.

Abstract: A form for providing a support for the application of artificial fingernail material is disclosed herein. The form is generally horseshoe-shaped, the improvement comprising the addition of a lip member on the portion of the platform adjacent to the finger. The lip member provides additional support and attachment sites for the form to the finger and prevents bowing of the form as a result of notches provided on each side of the lip member accommodate folds of skin on the sides of the nail.

Abstract: A dental instrument including a shaft having firmly attached at one end thereof a mirror which is carried by a housing provided with an inlet opening to a first internal channel which communicates with a channel provided in the shaft, this latter channel being intended for connection to a suction source. According to the invention the shaft (17) incorporates a second channel (16) having one end which opens above the mirror (2) and the other end of which is intended for connection to a pressurized-air source via a control means (23) effective to regulate the supply of pressurized air to a turbine drill, whereby the supply of pressurized air to the instrument (1) is proportional to the supply of pressurized air to the turbine drill, and whereby the pressurized air supplied to the instrument (1) is blown over the mirror (2).

Abstract: Hair fasteners which can be coupled together. Each fastener of the illustrated embodiment has a stub and a socket so as to allow the stub of one fastener to be inserted into the socket of another thereby to couple the fasteners.

Abstract: A template for setting artificial teeth comprises a pair of arched ridge formers pivoted at their front ends to a base so that the overall arch may be made wider or narrower to coincide with the curve of a model of the patient's opposing jaw. Shallow receptacles in the surfaces of the pivoted ridge formers receive the individual artificial teeth so they can be waxed to a base plate made from an impression of the patient's jaw.
