  • Patent number: 5685936
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing a carbon honeycomb structure that includes the steps of: alternately stacking a plurality of corrugated sheets each of which is produced by corrugating a supporting base of carbon fibers impregnated with an epoxy resin prepolymer and then curing the prepolymer, and a plurality of flat sheets, each of which is prepared by curing a supporting base of carbon fibers impregnated with an epoxy resin prepolymer, through a node bond adhesive; curing the adhesive to form a honeycomb structure; dipping the resulting honeycomb structure in a phenolic resin prepolymer solution; evaporating the solvent; then curing the phenolic resin prepolymer; repeating these dip, evaporation and curing processes to coat the honeycomb structure with a predetermined amount of the phenolic resin; and cutting the coated honeycomb structure to a predetermined thickness.

  • Patent number: 5626695
Abstract: A pneumatic radial tire for a small-size passenger car having substantially the same structure as in the conventional tire includes a pair of bead portions each with a monostrand bead core of a particular cross-sectional shape made by spiral winding of a rubberized steel wire having a particular diameter. The bead core has a particular ratio of distance between center points of adjacent steel wire windings to the diameter of the steel wire and a length overlapping a winding start point of the steel wire with a winding terminal point thereof.

  • Patent number: 5131446
Abstract: A radial tire is comprised of a belt, disposed between a carcass and a tread, having metal cord plies including a first belt ply, a second belt ply, a third belt ply and a fourth belt ply which are arranged radially outwardly in that order, wherein the second belt ply has a curvature concentric with the curvature of a radially outer surface of the tread and a width (B2) of at least 93% of the tread width (W), and the third belt ply has a width (B3) smaller than the width (B2) and is provided at both ends with spaced parts 1.5 to 4.5 mm distance apart from the second belt ply, the third belt ply, in a central part having a width (CR) of 60 to 70% of the width (B3) and both end parts each having a width (b) of 5 to 15% of the width, the third belt ply having a curvature concentric with the curvature of the radially outer surface of the tread.

  • Patent number: 5037498
Abstract: A method for continuously molding a honeycomb panel having a sandwich structure wherein a plastic composite is bonded to both surfaces of a honeycomb-shaped core member. A long honeycomb sandwich panel is formed by repeating the following steps:(1) laminating a prepreg to the upper and lower surfaces of a band-like honeycomb core member to form a band-like blank;(2) feeding the band-like blank between a pair of upper and lower hot plates having a rectangular plane shape;(3) pressurizing the hot plates to apply pressure and heat to part of the band-like blank for a preset time; and(4) relieving the pressure exerted in the hot plates and feeding the band-like blank by a distance corresponding to a partial length of the hot plates.
