  • Patent number: 5983452
Abstract: A wheel skid having an arcuate base for facilitating mobility of a vehicle on terrain where wheels ordinarily sink into the terrain, and/or otherwise become directed in a direction other than the desired direction of travel of such vehicles, and where wheeled transportation is otherwise difficult or impossible, and hazardous. The wheel skid has an arcuate base having a slot, a wheel assembly having a wheel, the slot having the wheel of the wheel assembly protruding therethrough, and a fastener fastening the wheel assembly thereto the wheel skid. The wheel skid may be supplied as a complete unit and/or as an accessory skid for retrofit installations.

  • Patent number: 5951022
Abstract: An improved fluid seal device or pressure seal of the type suitable for uses such as sealing an annular space between an internal surface and a member having an outer cylindrical surface is described. The seal includes a reinforced body formed of fabric reinforced rubber and at least one dynamic lip made substantially of rubber. The lip protrudes from the seal so that a small portion of the lip contiguous to the body of the seal and containing fabric reinforcement is contacted by the movable member in addition to the movable member contacting the resilient portion of the lip. The resilient portion of the lip hinges along the interface between the resilient portion and the fabric reinforced portion to control break-away frictional forces between the seal and the member.

  • Patent number: 5944323
Abstract: A sealing ring for sealing a space between two substantially cylindrical space surfaces (36, 44) axially introducable one into the other comprises two annular sealing portions (2, 4) concentrically connected with each other. The sealing portions have one sealing surface (14, 16) each adapted to engage one space surface (44, 36) each. In its relaxed condition the sealing ring forms a recess (22) between the sealing portions (2, 4) and when this recess (22) is closed substantially without a compression of the sealing ring, the sealing surfaces (14, 16) take a substantially parallel position in relation to the space surfaces (44, 36), respectively. This provides that the sealing ring will at the compression between the space surfaces (44, 36) be subjected to a substantially uniform compression over the main part of its section.
