Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program for providing information on a promoted product to a user. A virtual environment is rendered and a virtual customer is rendered within the virtual environment, wherein the virtual customer utilizes the promoted product by receiving input control signals from the user indicating movement of the virtual customer through the virtual environment. Interactions are rendered between the virtual customer and the virtual environment in response to the input control signals to enable the user to virtually experience how the promoted product is capable of impacting daily activities of the user and to promote the product.

Abstract: A diagnostic article and method is disclosed wherein the article includes a mirror, a plurality of attribute selection sites arranged along or associated with the mirror with each of the sites having a plurality of choice selectors, and an output for recommending at least one personal care product based upon input from the choice selectors. A diagnostic for skin includes attribute selection sites hosting questions related to a customer's age, skin coloration, dryness, sunburn susceptibility, pimple breakout affinity, wrinkle formation and pore size. Hair, dental and underarm products may also be personalized by the diagnostic system. The mirror allows a customer in-store to more accurately answer attribute questions through reference to the customer's mirror reflection.

Abstract: Teaching reading for test-taking is included where a reading passage and questions are displayed. The questions include an evidence set and a thinking set, where the evidence set includes one or more evidence questions designed to be answered by referring to the reading passage, and where the thinking questions are designed to be answered by analyzing at least a portion of the reading passage. A marking input is received including at least one marking corresponding to a portion of the reading passage, where the at least one marking includes at least one indicator. Each indicator indicates a category of text associated with each marked portion of the reading passage. A determination is made as to whether the reading passage includes an appropriate portion of the reading passage. A response is evaluated according to the determination.
