  • Patent number: 11151668
Abstract: Approaches for determining scheduling assignments for the movement of people along a multi-segment path from a starting location to a destination location, are used to manage crowds, predict crowd behavior, and mitigate crowd turbulence. For example, to mitigate crowd congestion, routing solutions specifying an amount of time to spend at a destination and a departure time can be provided. Itinerary assignments, crowd data, and data associated with an event can be analyzed and weighted to determine scheduling assignments. Scheduling assignments can be validated against current crowd data and event data. Current crowd data and event data and crowd simulation can be used to predict future crowd behavior or crowd problems. Scheduling assignments can be rescheduled to mitigate crowd problems or emergencies.

  • Patent number: 11120641
Abstract: A system for managing fare collection in a public transit network may include a fare collection system and a fare management system. The fare collection may collect fare information from passengers boarding or getting off a vehicle. The fare management system may use the received fare information to determine a fare return series over a period of time, which includes multiple fare returns. The fare management system may use a hierarchical cluster method to cluster multiple fare returns into one or more clusters represented in a dendrogram, apply a “silhouette” method to the dendrogram and obtain an optimal clustering. The system may further output a graphic representation, such as a trend line, for each of the clusters over a time period. Based on the clustering results, the system may also deploy a revised fare class schedule or transit system schedule to the fare collection system.

  • Patent number: 10990911
Abstract: In some implementations, a method performed by data processing apparatuses includes identifying a first delivery route that includes delivery stops at multiple locations within a first geographic region, and identifying a second delivery route within a second geographic region. The first delivery route can be assigned to a first carrier that is designated to deliver orders within the first geographic region, and the second delivery route can be assigned to a second carrier that is designated to deliver orders within the second geographic region. An additional order can then be identified that is requested to be delivered to a location within the first geographic region. The second delivery route can be modified to include the additional delivery stop for the additional order, including assigning the additional order to the second carrier even though the second carrier is designated to deliver orders within the second geographic region.

  • Patent number: 10796270
Abstract: Various embodiments provide systems and methods for facilitating synchronized delivery of shipments/items scheduled to be delivered to multiple serviceable points located nearby one another. Various embodiments identify nearby serviceable points based on an identification of serviceable points being located along a common street segment. Accordingly, serviceable point data identifying corresponding street segment identifiers are stored for a plurality of serviceable points. Thereafter, shipping data for a first shipment to be delivered to a first serviceable point is received, and a determination is made whether a second shipment scheduled to be delivered to a second serviceable point is available for synchronized delivery with the first shipment. The determination comprises determining whether the street segment corresponding to the first serviceable point is the same as and/or is connected to the street segment corresponding to the second serviceable point.

  • Patent number: 10789566
Abstract: Identifying existing orders of non-subscribers that are eligible for subscription-based shipping program features, enrolling the non-subscriber, and instructing modification of the fulfillment of the existing order based on the enrollment is described. A non-subscriber places an order for an item and a fulfillment plan is generated for the order. A determination is made whether the order is eligible for subscription-based shipping based on various factors and if eligible, the non-subscriber may subsequently be notified in a message that if she/he were a subscriber, they would have had their item by now. Analysis associated with the determination may include analysis of various possible fulfillment options that provide various mixes of factors such as inventory location, shipping cost, and available time, for example. If the non-subscriber agrees to become a subscriber, she/he is enrolled as a subscriber and the fulfillment plan for the existing order may be accelerated.
