  • Patent number: 11486909
Abstract: A sectioned field effect transistor (“FET”) for implementing a rapidly changing sense range ratio dynamically in response to changing load and main supply conditions. The sectioned FET may have multiple main FET sections, and multiple sense FET sections. These sections can be dynamically connected and disconnected from the sectioned FET. The sections may also be connected by a common gate. There may also be common drain or source connections for the main FET sections, and also common drain or source connections for the sense FET sections. The sectioned FET allows for the sense range to be extended by a multiple of k+1, where k is the size ratio or factor of the additional sense FET sections. This allows the current sense range ratio to be extended to (m+n)/n*(k+1).

  • Patent number: 11454655
Abstract: A current detection apparatus includes a voltage detector, a candidate voltage generator, a temperature detector and a correction voltage selector. The voltage detector includes an output terminal for outputting a detected voltage according to a load current. The candidate voltage generator includes correction resistors connected in series and connecting the output terminal and a ground. The candidate voltage generator generates candidate voltages at respective sections across the corresponding correction resistors. The temperature detector detects a temperature of a semiconductor switch. The correction voltage selector selects one of the candidate voltages as a corrected voltage. The one of the candidate voltages is weighted with corresponding one of the corrected magnification scales corresponding to an on-resistance of the semiconductor switch at the measured temperature. The corrected voltage indicates a corrected current value with correction of the load current according to the measured temperature.

  • Patent number: 11439319
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to measuring impedance across a plurality of electrode pairs. The disclosed systems and methods may simultaneously provide drive signals between electrode pairs and then sense the voltage signals that develop at the electrodes. Digital signal processing may be used to synchronously demodulate the voltage signal at each electrode to determine impedances at the electrodes. Each electrode pair may be driven at a unique frequency to allow for significantly increasing a number of electrode pairs and/or increasing drive current magnitudes. Synchronous demodulation allows the unique frequencies to be detected independent of each other while minimizing crosstalk. Typically, the drive frequencies are made orthogonal by setting the drive frequencies at harmonics of a common base frequency and measuring a response over an integer number of cycles.
