  • Patent number: 10142934
Abstract: A wireless terminal apparatus in a communication system shares a reference cycle with a data center. The reference cycle includes an incoming-call acceptance ready time that ranges from an incoming-call acceptance start time point to an incoming-call acceptance end time point. The incoming-call acceptance start time point corresponds to an outgoing-call generation time point of generating an outgoing-call by the data center. The outgoing-call generation end time point is set in consideration of a delay in the outgoing-call. The wireless terminal apparatus is set in an intermittent standby state that is contained in the incoming-call acceptance ready time. In the remaining time excluding the incoming-call acceptance ready time within the reference cycle, the wireless terminal apparatus is set in a sleep state in which no incoming-call is accepted.

  • Patent number: 10098039
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for setting a timeout period. In particular, a BS may have data storage defining a buffer. Also, the BS may be configured to (i) provide an air interface through which the BS serves UEs, (ii) buffer data packets destined to individual UEs, and (iii) apply a buffer timeout process according to which the BS drops a data packet from the buffer in response to that data packet being in the buffer for a timeout period. As such, the BS may make a determination that a served UE is a relay-UE that provides wireless backhaul connectivity for a relay-BS, and may set the timeout period based on the determination. When the BS then applies the buffer timeout process, the BS drops a data packet from the buffer in response to that data packet being in the buffer for the timeout period set based on the determination.

  • Patent number: 10003445
Abstract: A scheduler capable of operating in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing communication system schedules a control channel for a user equipment by determining a channel quality metric associated with the user equipment, calculating a target control channel element quality metric, determining a control channel element utilization rate, wherein the control channel element utilization rate a past rate of utilization of control channel elements, and selecting a control channel element aggregation level for the control channel based on the channel quality metric, the target control channel element quality metric, and the control channel element utilization rate. The scheduler then allocates control channel elements to the control channel based on the selected control channel element aggregation level. The scheduler further may steal power from one or more unused control channel elements and assign the stolen power to control channel elements assigned to the control channel.
