  • Patent number: 9668155
Abstract: Responsive to receiving a request for a measurement in a mobile, the mobile determines whether time instances associated with the measurement coincide with time instances of location estimate availability in the mobile. Responsive to determining that location estimates are not available for a substantial fraction of the time instances when the measurement is requested, the mobile changes the time instances for the measurement and/or the time instances of location estimate availability to increase the availability of location estimates for the measurements.

  • Patent number: 9628942
Abstract: An approach for facilitating secured use of short-range wireless tokens is disclosed. In some implementations, a short-range wireless token may be wirelessly powered based on the short-range wireless token being within a powering range of an electromagnetic field of a user device. The short-range wireless token may be configured to generate output signals while being powered. The output signals of the short-range wireless token may be disabled while the short-range wireless token continues to be powered by the electromagnetic field based on a predetermined condition determined by the short-range wireless token. The output signals of the short-range wireless token may be re-enabled based on a discontinuing of the powering of the short-range wireless token by the electromagnetic field and then a resuming of the powering of the short-range wireless token by the electromagnetic field.

  • Patent number: 9621284
Abstract: A mobile communication system comprises: a user terminal that receives a desired wave signal from a serving cell while receiving an interference wave signal from a neighboring cell adjacent to the serving cell; and a base station that manages the serving cell. The base station comprises: a controller that generates an interference replica signal corresponding to the interference wave signal and superposes the interference replica signal on the desired wave signal; and a transmitter that transmits the desired wave signal superposed with the interference replica signal to the user terminal. The controller generates the interference replica signal such that the interference replica signal cancels the interference wave signal in a location of the user terminal. The interference replica signal acts as a disturbing signal, which disturbs demodulation of the desired wave signal, in a location other than the location of the user terminal.

  • Patent number: 9602226
Abstract: A distributed spectrum analyzer and a method of spectrum analysis applying same. The spectrum analyzer adopts a separate design. A radio frequency receiver receives a signal, performs frequency conversion processing and AD conversion on the received signal, and sends the converted digital signal to a host. In such a structure, by a digital optical module, the radio frequency receiver is connected to a corresponding digital optical module on the host through an optical fiber, so as to implement a bidirectional data transmission. The host performs general control of the system as well as signal processing and spectrum analysis. Therefore, a multi-interface design is applied to the host of the spectrum analyzer, so as to support simultaneous access and control for a plurality of radio frequency receivers, thereby conveniently implementing multi-port measurement extension.

  • Patent number: 9559416
Abstract: The invention is about a method and apparatus for grouping multiple satellite transponders with both (LP) polarization formats in different frequencies through Wave-Front (WF) Multiplexing (muxing) techniques for ground terminals with incompatible (CP) polarization formats. As a result of this invention, linear polarized (LP) transponders can be accessed and efficiently utilized by circularly polarized (CP) ground terminals and vice versa. This invention consists of conventional ground terminals, a unique organization of space assets, and a unique polarization alignment processor. The applications of wavefront multiplexing techniques to satellite communications offer many potential advantages, including improved flexibility and utility efficiency of existing space assets.
