Abstract: A smoking article assembly apparatus is disclosed. It comprises a first cutting station configured to cut a filter rod into filter segments, a tipping station configured to join the filter segments to tobacco rods so as to form a smoking article assembly, and a second cutting station configured to cut the smoking article assembly in the region of the filter segments so as to form two smoking articles.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an adhesive tape dispenser, for an adhesive tape roll having a core element, said dispenser essentially consisting of or comprising a carrier unit, in particular a housing, at least one grip member being connected, in particular via a connecting member, to the carrier unit for handling of the adhesive tape dispenser, a first bearing member essentially consisting of or comprising a rotatable bearing shaft arranged and adjusted for receiving the core element of an adhesive tape roll and for rotatably supporting said roll which is directly or indirectly arranged on and/or fastened to the carrier unit, a second bearing member essentially consisting of or comprising an, in particular non-rotatable, bearing shaft, which is directly or indirectly arranged on and/or fastened to the carrier unit, and a receiving member arranged and adjusted for receiving the core element of an adhesive tape roll that is rotatably arrangeable or supported on said second bearing shaft, an, in particular
Abstract: A method for forming a double-sided loop strap includes: receiving a continuous longitudinal strip of loop material including a strip-form base bearing a field of upstanding loops on a fastening side of the strip bounded by opposite longitudinal edges, folding each of the longitudinal edges away from the fastening side, such that the base overlaps itself, and securing the folded edges in place by permanently bonding together overlapped areas of the base to form the double-sided loop strap.

Abstract: A film application apparatus includes a first base configured to couple a film material and a second base rotatably coupled to the first base. The first base defines an opening and two through holes on opposite side of the first base, the through holes communicate with the opening. The second base defines a receiving chamber and the receiving chamber is configured for accommodating a work piece. The film application apparatus further includes a pressing component inserted through the first base, the pressing component penetrating through the opening from the two through holes for pressing the film material against to a face of the work piece.
Abstract: A composite structure comprises stacked sets of laminated fiber reinforced resin plies and metal sheets. Edges of the resin plies and metal sheets are interleaved to form a composite-to-metal joint connecting the resin plies with the metal sheets.

Abstract: A tape dispenser includes a plastic injection molded frame with a resiliently flexible finger that helps prevent the free end of a roll of tape from accidentally retracting, falling back, and frustratingly sticking to the coiled portion of the tape. To avoid this problem, a distal end of the finger presses against the inner diameter of a cardboard or plastic spool about which the tape is wrapped. Friction between the finger's distal end and the spool's inner diameter inhibits reverse rotation of the spool. To avoid breaking the finger while forcefully loading the roll of tape into the dispenser during assembly, a lateral backstop surface on the dispenser prevents the spool from bending the finger too far in a laterally outward direction. To avoid breaking the finger during subsequent rough use, another backstop surface prevents the spool from bending the finger too far in a radially downward direction.
