  • Patent number: 11285967
Abstract: A system for modifying actions taken by an autonomous driving module of an autonomous vehicle may include one or more processors, an input device having an actuator, and a memory having an input module and a modification module. The input module includes instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to determine when the actuator of the input device is actuated by a passenger of the autonomous vehicle when the autonomous driving module is in an autonomous mode. The modification module includes instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to modify one or more actions to be performed by the autonomous driving module while maintaining the autonomous mode of the autonomous driving module when the actuator of the input device is actuated by the passenger. The one or more actions may include increasing an amount of sensor data considered by the autonomous driving module.

  • Patent number: 11235750
Abstract: A control apparatus is used in a vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine, a rotating electrical machine, and a storage battery. The control apparatus stops the engine when a state of charge (SOC) of the storage battery is higher than a lower limit, and an automatic stop condition is met and also restarts the engine when the SOC of the storage battery is lower than the lower limit, and an automatic restart condition is met. The control apparatus also controls operation of the rotating electrical machine to generate electricity to increase the SOC above a target SOC and also actuates the rotating electrical machine to assist in driving the vehicle when the SOC is higher than a torque assist enable SOC. The target SOC is set higher than the lower limit. The torque assist enable SOC is set higher than the target SOC. This improves the fuel economy.

  • Patent number: 11167745
Abstract: A control system of a hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine loaded on a vehicle, an electric motor loaded on the vehicle, and connected to wheels via a power transmission mechanism, a battery storing power that drives the electric motor, and a control device that controls engine torque generated by the internal combustion engine, and motor torque transmitted to the wheels by the electric motor. The control device calculates an outputable power of the battery based on a temperature and a state of charge of the battery. The control device is configured to make a torque change amount of the engine torque larger when the calculated outputable power belongs to a predetermined low power region than when the outputable power belongs to a high power region with higher power than the low power region.

  • Patent number: 11131551
Abstract: A map data providing system stores map data including multiple section data in which a reference point indicated by absolute coordinates is set for each of multiple sections, and a map element is represented by relative coordinates to the reference point of the section to which the map element belongs, detects position coordinates of the vehicle based on a navigation signal, employs a difference between absolute coordinates of the map element indicated by the map data and absolute coordinates of the map element identified based on the relative position of the map element and the position coordinates of the vehicle as a deviation amount, calculates a correction amount based on the deviation amount, corrects the position information of the reference point by using the correction amount, and creates corrected map data indicating position coordinates of the map element.

  • Patent number: 11067986
Abstract: An autonomous driving vehicle includes a main vehicle part, a processor, and a memory storing thereon a computer program, which when executed by the processor, causes the processor to perform operations. The operations include detecting a gesture made, to try to stop the main vehicle part, by a person present near a road on which the main vehicle part is running, determining whether there is a passenger in the main vehicle part, and controlling autonomous driving of the main vehicle part. In a case where it is determined that there is no passenger in the main vehicle part, when a person making the gesture is detected, the controlling controls the main vehicle part to stop near the person.
