Abstract: A portable tower with electrical capability includes a housing with base, central, and upper housing portions, and with electrical power and/or data outlets including at least one outlet at either or both of the upper and lower housing portions. The central housing portion projects upwardly from the base housing portion and supports the upper housing portion at an elevated position spaced above the base housing portion. The electrical power and/or data outlets are in electrical communication with a power or data source, such as a remote source or an onboard source as in a rechargeable battery or capacitor. Where an onboard source is provided, the portable tower is positionable in substantially any desired location and is capable of providing electrical power to other devices when there is sufficient energy stored in the onboard source.

Abstract: An electrical connector is provided to have a watertight function and a portion on its rear side downsized. The electrical connector includes an insulating housing, conductive contacts held by the housing, and a shell for containing the housing. The conductive contacts each include a connection portion exposed on the front side of the housing to connect to a mating contact of a mating connector, and a terminal portion protruding rearward from the housing. The shell includes a front shell member and a rear shell member provided in the rear of the front shell member. The front shell member has a fitting portion open to the front into which the mating connector is insertable. The rear shell member has a smaller diameter than the front shell member. A space between the housing and a constriction portion is tightly sealed.
Abstract: When a movable reel is rotated, a rotating ring is rotated following the rotation of the movable reel. An annular elastic member is fitted to a support on the rotating ring. In a laying-out space, a cable is pressed by a first elastic belt portion and a second elastic belt portion of the annular elastic member. As a result, a reversing portion of the cable can keep its shape constant. Since the annular elastic member is able to circle around the support following the movement of the rotating ring, damage of the cable can be reduced.
Abstract: Shielded connector assemblies for use in wiring/cabling applications are disclosed. The connector assemblies include first and second jack openings that facilitate interaction between plugs that feature different contact layouts/alignments, e.g., a first plug that features a conventional CAT 5/CAT 6 contact layout and a second plug that features a contact layout according to the IEC 60603-7-7 standard. Cable/plug combinations are also provided wherein the cable features shielded twisted pair (STP) fully shielded twisted pair (FTP) and unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wires. The cable/plug interface includes a housing wherein individual wires are brought into electrical communication with electrical contacts that are exposed relative to the exterior of the housing. The electrical contacts are positioned in quadrants of the plug housing, when viewed in cross-section, such that the plug complies with the contact geometry set forth in the IEC 60603-7-7 standard.
