  • Patent number: 9334606
Abstract: A seaming element for an industrial textile and a method of manufacture. The seaming element comprises an elongate body folded along its length at a folded connection region comprising a plurality of channeled protrusions securable to corresponding channeled protrusions of a complementary seaming element affixed to an opposing seamable edge. First and second body members extend from respective edges of the folded connection region, each body member being directly securable to the first seamable edge. At least one of the body members comprises a longitudinal profiled region proximate and substantially parallel to a free edge of the respective member. The method includes providing an array of apertures to form the channeled protrusions, and the profiled region is formed in a progressive roll forming process. The seaming element enables improved consistency and reliability of bonding of the element to the textile by laser welding, adhesives or other methods.

  • Patent number: 9321242
Abstract: Fluids are handled with a discardable floormat stacked with an absorbent sheet that extends beyond the floormat. The floormat is compressible and resilient, and may be a single or multiple sections. Atop the floormat are trip-avoiding channels feeding a gutter on a side whose height equals or exceeds the opposite side. The floormat has a border region, and a greater central region that is flat except for the channels. The border region has a height not exceeding that of the gutter, which has a draining outlet. In some cases the gutter is mostly free to fill fully and form a single exposed stream. In other cases, tubing occupies most of the gutter length, and has some intake apertures. Fluid entering the tubing can be sucked out, while fluid arriving at the absorbent sheet will be absorbed.

  • Patent number: 9278500
Abstract: A vehicle interior panel includes stitching sewn through a decorative skin layer of the panel. The associated sewing needle holes are sealed by an elastomeric material before a foam layer is formed on the non-visible side of the skin layer to prevent the expanding foam from leaking through the needle holes and becoming visible at the visible side of the panel. The elastomeric material is initially applied as a viscous liquid formulated to solidify and can be applied by spraying, enabling lines of stitching to be located along complex contours of the panel.
