  • Patent number: 11237532
Abstract: A hysteresis compensation systems and methods. Hysteresis compensation is provided using a known response curve for each of a plurality of different state conditions. In response to determining that a state transition has occurred (i.e., from one response curve to another), the system generates a transition response curve extending from an origin point on a first response curve to an end point on a second response curve based at least in part on a known or determined difference between the input value of the origin point and the input value for the end point. In some embodiments, this difference is determined experimentally and, in others, it is estimated based on measured feedback. Hysteresis compensation is then provided by identifying an input value on the transition response curve that corresponds to a target system output value for the received indicated input value (e.g., as defined by a reference curve).

  • Patent number: 11169583
Abstract: The present disclosure, in various aspects, describes technologies and techniques for a controller of a data storage device to mitigate temperature increases in the data storage device. In one example, the controller receives a command for a memory operation, analyzes the command to determine whether execution of the command with thermal throttling would have a negative impact on a user experience, and activates, if performing the thermal throttling would have the negative impact on the user experience, one or more thermoelectric cooler (TEC) devices while refraining from performing the thermal throttling. In another example, the controller monitors a temperature of one or more regions of the data storage device, determines whether the temperature exceeds a threshold temperature, activates one or more TEC devices to mitigate the temperature when the temperature exceeds the threshold temperature, and deactivates any activated TEC devices when the temperature no longer exceeds the threshold temperature.

  • Patent number: 11073291
Abstract: An external control unit to be connected between a power source and an electrically driven pump to act as a smart switch to convert a “dumb” pump into a smart pump. The control system of this invention comprises a microcontroller-operated switch, located between the power source and the pump, or other fluid flow control device to be operated by electricity, and which can be programmed to record usage data of, e.g., hot water, by the household; it sets up the operating times in accordance with such usage. A temperature sensor is connected to the microcontroller to sense a temperature change, in a hot water system is turned on, by measuring an increase in temperature to indicate flow through the hot water pipe, and to record such data. This will determine, in the context of a hot water system, when the pump should be activated to bring up hot water.
