    Abstract: A cleaning system for a combine harvester. The cleaning system includes a sieve assembly, a sieve drive, and a louver drive. The sieve assembly includes at least one sieve for receiving a flow of harvested and threshed crop. The sieve includes a plurality of spaced apart louvers forming apertures for separating grain from the flow of the harvested crop, the louvers extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to the flow of the harvested crop. The sieve drive is arranged to apply a reciprocating back and forth sieve movement, at a first frequency f1, to the sieve for propagating the flow of crop from a front end of the sieve to a back end of the sieve. The louver drive is configured to apply a reciprocating louver movement to the louvers at a second frequency f2, whereby f2?f1.

A crop distribution member is positioned adjacent the outlet end of the inlet chute. The crop distribution member includes a distribution disc rotatable relative to the inlet chute about a vertical central axis to impart a horizontal trajectory, away from the central axis, to crop material supplied to the distribution disc from the inlet chute. A fan is operable to generate an air stream from below the crop distribution member, across the horizontal trajectory, to an air-chaff outlet. A grain collection chute has an inlet to receive grain that is cleaned of chaff by the air stream. A tailings collection chute is positioned adjacent to the grain collection chute on a radially inner side thereof.

A center blade and a first side blade rotating in one direction and a second counter-rotating side blade are within the space. A front flow control baffle has a first V-shaped apex located between the unidirectional blades and a second V-shaped apex between the center blade and the counter-rotating side blade. A first V-shaped flow deflector mounted to the first apex points downwardly to cause many grass clippings from the first side blade to be directed to the rear discharge opening without passing to the center blade. A second V-shaped flow deflector mounted to the second apex points upwardly to disrupt the convergence of the air flows and clipping streams from the center and second side blades to maintain the quality of cut and reduce blow out.

The system includes a first tube for dispensing the seeds via a first outlet, a second tube for dispensing the treatment via a second outlet, and a first valve at an upper portion and a second valve at a lower portion of the second tube. The second outlet is located between the discs of a furrow-opening wheel. The first valve is positioned outside of the furrow during operation and controls movement of the treatment from a container into the second tube. The second valve controls release of the treatment from the second outlet into the furrow. The second valve may open and close in response to pressure exerted by the treatment in the second tube. Depending on the treatment, the valves may release the treatment on, adjacent to, or both behind and in front of the dispensed seeds.

The seeding opener system generally includes an implement which is driven by a tractor. The cutter is adjustable so as to lower the blade to a desired depth beneath the ground surface, or raise the blade above the ground surface when not in use. The blade includes a configuration which ensures that soil backfills over the blade to minimize disturbance of the ground surface during seeding operations. A deflector on the lower end of the blade ensures that seeds are uniformly distributed beneath the ground surface when in use.

The flow circulating within the annular region allows seeds to fall downwardly and air to spiral upwardly into a supplemental air conduit. An air bypass passageway conveys air flow from the supplemental air conduit toward the slave outlet conduits.
