  • Patent number: 11706109
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for performing data traffic monitoring. For each packet processing stage of a set of packet processing stages in a packet processing pipeline, the method determines whether a packet received by the packet processing pipeline specifies a set of monitoring actions to be performed on the packet. When the packet specifies a set of monitoring action, the method determines whether the monitoring actions in the set are supported by the packet processing stage. The method executes the supported monitoring actions on the packet in addition to processing the packet according to configuration data for the stage.

  • Patent number: 11686749
Abstract: A power meter or other electrical device is provided having two independent and communicatively isolated Ethernet ports. The first Ethernet port is addressable by a first unique identifier and is configured for enabling full access to the power meter via an internal LAN. This enables a LAN operator to remotely access the power meter via the internal LAN for performing metering functions, such as full telemetry, control and programming. The second Ethernet port is addressable by a second unique identifier and is configured for being connected to the Internet. Since the second Ethernet port is communicatively isolated from the first Ethernet port, a user can access the power meter via the Internet, but cannot access the internal LAN by connecting to the power meter via the Internet.

  • Patent number: 11683256
Abstract: A method of optimizing network processing in a system comprising a physical host and a set of physical network interface controllers (PNICs) is provided. The physical host includes a forwarding element. The method includes determining that a set of conditions is satisfied to bypass the forwarding element for exchanging packets between a particular data compute node (DCN) and a particular PNIC. The set of conditions includes the particular DCN being the only DCN connected to the forwarding element and the particular PNIC being the only PNIC connected to the forwarding element. The method exchanges packets between the particular DCN and the particular PNIC bypassing the forwarding element. The method determines that at least one condition in said set of conditions is not satisfied. The method utilizes the forwarding element to exchange packets between the particular DCN and the particular PNIC.

  • Patent number: 11677645
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method of aggregating and providing packet metrics collected during a live packet monitoring session performed for packets matching a specified set of characteristics. The method receives, from one or more computing devices that process packets during the live packet monitoring session, multiple metrics associated with a set of packets matching the specified set of characteristics. Metrics associated with each packet in the set are accompanied by a packet identifier (ID) used to tag the packet by an initial computing device that processed the packet. The method uses the accompanying packet IDs to aggregate the received plurality of metrics. The method provides (i) an aggregated set of session metrics for the set of packets matching the specified set of characteristics during the live packet monitoring session and (ii) individual packet metrics using the packet IDs for at least one packet in the set of packets.

  • Patent number: 11663355
Abstract: A method for providing access to objects associated with a particular client in a cloud storage system is disclosed. The method includes the steps of establishing a connection with a user, providing a client namespace associated with the client to the user, where the client namespace represents objects stored on the cloud storage system and objects stored on a private storage system apart from the cloud storage system, receiving a request from the user to access an object stored on the private storage system, and providing information to the user to facilitate access to the object stored on the private storage system by said user. Other systems and methods are also disclosed. Important advantages of the present invention are facilitated by separating the logic for user access (control plane) from the actual storage (Storage plane). Private file system access can still be managed from the cloud, while keeping the client data private.

  • Patent number: 11665233
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and application for digital media that allows users to share a media playlist and synchronize playing for all connected users. The user browses their device for media files to create a playlist, and then hosts the playlist over an existing local area network or creates a Wi-Fi hotspot. The playlist may be encrypted to provide a form of digital rights management. Other users are then prompted to download the playlist and send the host a calculated playback delay. Once all users have completed downloading the playlist the hosting user is prompted to press play, pushing timing information that takes into account the largest delay to all connected users via the active local area network, resulting in all devices playing the media in synchronicity for the duration of the playlist. Additional users may opt in during playback and use the timing information to synchronize their devices' playback.

  • Patent number: 11665207
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to monitoring communication between computers using network monitoring computers (NMCs). NMCs identify a secure communication session established between two of the computers based on an exchange of handshake information associated with the secure communication session. Key information that corresponds to the secure communication session may be obtained from a key provider such that the key information may be encrypted by the key provider. NMCs may decrypt the key information. NMCs may derive the session key based on the decrypted key information and the handshake information. NMCs may decrypt network packets included in the secure communication session. NMCs may be employed to inspect the one or more decrypted network packets to execute one or more rule-based policies.

  • Patent number: 11658848
Abstract: A communication system comprises a plurality of network elements and a management apparatus. Each of the network elements transfers a data signal. The management apparatus manages a line service provided by a network element as management object among the plurality of network elements. The management apparatus generates an authentication code corresponding to the network element as management object and notifies the generated authentication code to the network element as management object. The network element as management object, using the notified authentication code, judges whether or not to accept a change concerning the line service of the own network element.

  • Patent number: 11646985
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for dynamically controlling ephemeral messaging threads and ephemeral message duration settings across computing devices while improving security by maintaining end-to-end encryption. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems can transmit encrypted ephemeral messages, including ephemeral message duration settings and ephemeral setting timestamps. The disclosed systems can decrypt received messages on receiving client devices and dynamically apply ephemeral message duration settings to different message threads. For example, the disclosed systems can modify existing duration settings at a receiving client device to match a received ephemeral message duration setting based on determining that the received ephemeral setting timestamp predates an existing setting timestamp.
