  • Patent number: 9332411
Abstract: Various technologies described herein pertain to detection of an opportune time period to deliver a notification. Responsive to receipt of the notification (e.g., at a user device), analysis of an attention state of a user can be initialized. Further, the opportune time period to deliver the notification can be detected based on the analysis of the attention state of the user. The opportune time period can be during a breakpoint or an influential context. The breakpoint is when the user has switched between tasks and lacks engagement with the tasks. The influential context is a particular context in which the user is available to attend to the notification. Moreover, the notification can be delivered during the opportune time period.

  • Patent number: 9326096
Abstract: A method and apparatus to help detect that a particular location determination process is unreliable and to help exclude location fixes established with that location determination process from being used as a basis to provide a location-based service. In accordance with the disclosure, a server may receive at least three location fixes for a mobile station, all corresponding with each other in time and each established with a different location determination process, and the server may determine that one of the location fixes is relatively far away from the other location fixes and therefore that the location determination process used to establish that location fix is unreliable. In response to determining that the location determination process is unreliable, the server or another entity may then exclude location fixes established with that location determination process from being used as a basis to provide a location-based service.

  • Patent number: 9319911
Abstract: Various embodiments provide adaptive monitoring of a wireless communication network. In one embodiment, a first set of network data generated for a wireless communication network is analyzed. The first set of network data is a set of historical network data for the wireless communication network. A baseline for at least one operating characteristic associated with the wireless communication network is determined based on the analyzing. A second set of network data generated for the wireless communication network is received. The second set of call detail records that has been received is utilized to determine if the at least one operating characteristic corresponds to the baseline. A set of monitoring operations performed by a network management system with respect to the wireless communication network is dynamically adjusted based on the at least one operating characteristic failing to correspond to the baseline.
