  • Patent number: 10834594
Abstract: A first device may discover, using a short-range wireless communication protocol, an authentication service advertised by a second device, and may establish, with the second device, a connection using the short-range wireless communication protocol. The first device may display, after establishing the connection with the second device, a first identifier, and may provide to the second device a confirmation request including the first identifier to permit the second device to determine whether a second identifier, input by a user into the second device, matches the first identifier. The first device may receive, from the second device, encrypted credentials to authenticate the user to access a service based on the second device determining whether the second identifier matches the first identifier. The first device may decrypt the encrypted credentials to obtain credentials, and may authenticate, using the credentials, the user to access the service.

  • Patent number: 10827459
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for paging procedures in wireless systems. For example, a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may monitor one or more physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) for paging resources associated with a first subset of synchronization signal (SS) blocks that corresponds to a first beam tracking area (BTA). On a condition that at least one measurement of at least one beam associated with the first subset of SS blocks is less than a predetermined threshold, the WTRU may transmit, to a base station (BS), a signal indicating a second BTA that is associated with a second subset of SS blocks. The signal includes a physical random access channel (PRACH) resource associated with a second group of SS blocks that corresponds to the second BTA.

  • Patent number: 10820202
Abstract: In one example, an authentication server generates a Chargeable User Identity (CUI) for a User Equipment (UE) based on a first indication of an identifier obtained from the UE based on communications of the UE over a first network interface of a system. The authentication server obtains a second indication of the identifier based on communications of the UE over a second network interface of the system. In response to obtaining the second indication of the identifier, the authentication server determines that the UE is attempting to communicate over the second network interface. In response to determining that the UE is attempting to communicate over the second network interface, the authentication server uses the CUI for further communications of the UE over the second network interface.

  • Patent number: 10812945
Abstract: A tracking system determines a location of a tracking device associated with a user using one or more access points at the location. Each access point at the location is configured to detect and couple with the tracking device when the tracking device is within a communicative range of the access point. An access point provides updates on the tracking device's presence, as well as the tracking device's arrival to and departure from the communicative range of the access point, to a tracking server. The tracking server determines, from these updates, whether the tracking device is at the location. The user may be notified, via a mobile device, of the tracking device's location.

  • Patent number: 10771918
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for managing a spontaneously created geofenced area among a plurality of communication devices communicable with a communication server. The communication server receives, from a location enabled first communication device, an instruction to create a geofence around a location enabled second communication device. Upon receiving location data from the first and second communication devices, the communication server compares the location data of the first and second communication devices to determine how close they are to one another. When the first and second communication devices are within a predetermined distance of one another, the communication server creates a geofence around the second communication device. The communication server will then notify the first communication device when the second communication device ventures beyond the boundary of the geofence.
