Abstract: Various embodiments provide a method and an apparatus for identifying webpage type. The method includes: judging whether a web address to be classified matches with a webpage classification rule in at least two webpage classification rules; and determining the type of the webpage to be a type corresponding to a webpage classification rule which matches with the web address.

Abstract: A method and a storage device for collecting garbage data, where the method includes separately recording a data volume of first data in each segment of a storage device at a current time and a variation of the first data in each segment of the storage device in a preset period of time before the current time; obtaining, by means of calculation, a predicted value of the first data according to the data volume of the first data in each segment and the variation of the first data in each segment; and determining, according to the predicted value of the first data in each segment, a segment whose garbage data needs to be collected. A segment that has more garbage data and whose garbage creating rate is lower is reclaimed preferentially.

Abstract: User Defined Functions (UDFs) for a parallel database system are enhanced by making memory persist even when the UDFs terminate. The memory can be shared between different instances of the UDF and the memory can be custom mapped, encrypted, and use custom security.

Abstract: A text stream having one or more sentences is received, and any number of the one or more sentences are parsed to determine corresponding subject-verb-object (SVO) triples. Each sentence whose corresponding SVO triple contains an identified verb is selected, based on the identified verb, or a lemma of the identified verb, matching a predefined verb. A subject of each selected sentence is identified as an aspect candidate. Each identified aspect candidate is tokenized and normalized. One or more n-grams are generated for each tokenized and normalized aspect candidate. For each generated n-gram, a frequency at which the n-gram is generated is determined. A number of the generated n-grams are selected as aspects based on the frequency with which the number of n-grams are generated.

Abstract: Enforcing a policy based at least in part on URL information is disclosed. A uniform resource locator (URL) is received. A portion of the URL, or a transformation thereof, is matched against a bloom filter. Based on a result of the match, a first query is performed. A policy is enforced based at least in part on a category received as a result of a second query. In some cases, the first and second query are the same.

Abstract: A storage system includes a storage device that stores divided data which represents data which is obtained by division of data in a time series; a server device that acquires a first time, searches interval-related information for an interval that overlaps an interval between the first time and a second time following the first time by a specified duration of time, the interval-related information storing information in which identifying information that identifies the divided data and information that relates to intervals which indicate start times and end times of the divided data are associated, and acquires identifying information for the divided data that corresponds to the interval for which the search was performed; and a terminal device that acquires from the storage device the divided data that corresponds to the acquired identifying information and reads out the acquired divided data in chronological order.

Abstract: A device may receive individual information associated with individual activities of an individual, and may aggregate the individual information, based on a time period, to generate aggregated individual information. The device may identify patterns in the aggregated individual information, and may determine states for the patterns based on state information associated with activities capable of being performed by individuals. The device may generate a sequential knowledge graph based on modifying a knowledge graph with the states and adding a sequence of activities to the knowledge graph, and may determine embeddings for the individual activities based on the sequential knowledge graph.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described that validate color information in metadata associated with an image. Color information associated with images, in metadata, may need to be validated because there may be mistakes in the metadata. Color names associated with colors may be based on human generated data or human surveys. Individual colors may be extracted from images, which may be associated with the color names. Furthermore, the color names may be retrieved from a data store via a fast index color search. The color information in the metadata may be validated against the color names.

Abstract: Methods and systems for searching enterprise data are provided. The method is for searching data and includes identifying edges associating data and/or people. The method also includes assigning a resistance value to an edge based on strength(s) of association, the resistance value being inversely related to the strength of the association. The method further includes forming a resistance graph connecting the user with the data and the people based on the values of the edges. Additionally, the method includes providing results for a search query from a user based on the resistance graph with lower resistance values being prioritized for the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein to determine data associated with color palettes identified from keyword searches. Color palettes may include colors determined by human color preferences. Color palettes may be searched by name or other data associated with the color palettes. Individual colors may be extracted from color palettes, which may be used to fast index color search a data store of images and/or items. The items and/or images associated with color palettes may be returned based at least in part on the keyword search. Various user interfaces may be based at least in part on the keyword searching and/or trending techniques for color palettes.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described to generate a color palette with color combinations based on human color preferences. One or more input colors can be used to determine affiliated colors based on the presence of colors in color palettes that have been voted on and/or ranked by a community of users. Each affiliated color can be weighted, normalized, and ordered based at least in part on the level of preference for the color palette to which it belongs and the relative popularity of the input colors. A color from the ordered affiliated colors can be selected and added to the custom palette of colors. With the addition of a color, the ordered affiliated colors can be updated to further present colors for inclusion in the custom color palette.

Abstract: According to an example, at least one hot account is determined for each category according to quality scores and correlation degrees of history user generated content (UGCs); after a UGC newly posted by the hot account is received, if a quality score of the newly posted UGC is higher than a predefined quality score threshold and a correlation degree between the newly posted UGC and the category that the hot account belongs to is higher than a predefined correlation degree threshold, the newly posted UGC is determined as a hot UGC.

Abstract: Techniques for reducing overheads of primary storage while transferring modified data are described. According to one embodiment, in response to a request at a primary storage for a backup of a plurality of data blocks, a snapshot of the plurality of data blocks is captured, wherein the snapshot represents a consistent state of the plurality of data blocks. Then a set of data block of the captured snapshot that are to be copied to a secondary storage is identified and the identified set of data blocks are transferred to a secondary storage over a network. In response to receiving data to be written to a first data block at the first primary storage during the transfer, current contents of the first data block is preserved if the first data block is in identified set of data blocks, and the received data is committed to the first data block.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for storing a plurality of items, each item including digital content, for each item of the plurality of items, generating a quality score to provide a plurality of quality scores, each quality score indicating a quality of an associated item and being based on at least one of a status score and a content score, the status score being associated with an author user of a respective item and the content score being associated with digital content provided in the respective item, determining an order of items based on respective quality scores, and transmitting instructions to display items to a user based on the order.

Abstract: A pair of system tables are created in a system tablespace of a database and store free-form data that is defined by, and provided by, an end user. The information in a first system table determines whether a user table in a user tablespace of the database is capable of being annotated with the free-form data. The second system table stores the free-form data that is used to annotate that user table. So maintained, third parties can access the free-form data for analysis.

Abstract: A system and associated methods for responding to a request for a web page containing dynamic content by generating and delivering a static version of the requested page and content. Specifically, embodiments are directed to a system and methods for receiving a request for dynamic web content at a server, instantiating a virtual browser within an execution environment running on the server, loading the requested dynamic web content into the virtual browser, executing the executable content of the requested dynamic web content (thereby creating a corresponding static version of the requested dynamic web content), and delivering the static version in response to the request.

Abstract: Various systems and methods for restoring data using indexes. For example, one method involves receiving a request that includes a restore criterion. The method involves identifying a storage object in a backup storage device that meets the restore criterion, in response to the request. Detecting the identity of the storage object involves sending a query with the restore criterion to a client computing device that includes an index. The method also involves responding to the request with information identifying the storage object.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for processing timedly-published data are provided. After receiving an operation request for the timedly-published data, at least one of an append-file and a delete-file can be written according to the operation request. The append-file corresponds to to-be-appended timedly-published data or post-updated timedly-published data. The delete-file corresponds to to-be-deleted timedly-published data or pre-updated timedly-published data. Each of the append-file and the delete-file uses a publishing time of the timedly-published data as an index.

Abstract: Computer-based search results are improved by taking in consideration emphasized content by extracting content of a data corpus items indicated by typestyle emphasis; indexing the extracted emphasized content in the searched corpus; in response to a natural language query from a requester, performing a search such as a deep question and answer search of the corpus including the indexed emphasized content; and producing search results to the requester from the corpus with preference in the order or presentation of the results according to the emphasized content.
