  • Patent number: 11122734
Abstract: In an approach, hyperspectral and/or multispectral remote sensing images are automatically analyzed by a nitrogen analysis subsystem to estimate the value of nitrogen variables of crops or other plant life located within the images. For example, the nitrogen analysis subsystem may contain a data collector module, a function generator module, and a nitrogen estimator module. The data collector module prepares training data which is used by the function generator module to train a mapping function. The mapping function is then used by the nitrogen estimator module to estimate the values of nitrogen variables for a new remote sensing image that is not included in the training set. The values may then be reported and/or used to determine an optimal amount of fertilizer to add to a field of crops to promote plant growth.

  • Patent number: 11127167
Abstract: Many computing systems process data organized in a matrix format. For example, artificial neural networks perform numerous computations on data organized into matrices using conventional matrix arithmetic operations. One such operation is the transpose operation. Techniques are introduced for storing a matrix in a compressed format that allows, for example, a transpose operation to be performed during decompression. Thus, by utilizing the introduced techniques, transformations of compressed matrices such transposition can be achieved in a more effective way. Parallel processing may also be used to more efficiently compress and/or decompress.

  • Patent number: 11106904
Abstract: A method for modeling crowd movement includes obtaining a temporal sequence of images of a physical venue and, for each of the images, subdividing the respective image into a respective set of logical pixels according to a predetermined mapping. For each logical pixel of each image, the method computes a respective crowd density representing a respective number of mobile objects per unit of area in the physical venue at the logical pixel, thereby forming a temporal sequence of crowd density maps that corresponds to the temporal sequence of images. The method then uses successive pairs of crowd density maps to train a model on spatiotemporal changes in crowd density at the physical venue. A method of predicting future crowd density maps at physical venues using a current image of the physical venue and the trained model is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11100314
Abstract: A device, system and method is provided for estimating movement based on a human movement model in a virtual, augmented or mixed reality environment. In an offline phase, a human movement model may be stored that assigns a non-uniform probability of spatiotemporal representations of movements that occur in a human body. In an online phase, a user's movements may be recorded. The user's movements may be estimated by spatiotemporal representations of a plurality of (N) degrees of freedom (DOF) that maximize a joint probability comprising a first probability that the measured movements match the estimated movements and a second probability that the human movement model assigns to the spatiotemporal representations of the estimated movements. A virtual, augmented or mixed reality image may be displayed that is rendered based on the NDOF spatiotemporal representations of the estimated movements.
