Abstract: A method for managing a document at a mobile device having a user interface screen, the mobile device being arranged for a wireless connection to a reproduction unit and loaded with a mobile application for sending documents to the reproduction unit, includes opening the document by the mobile application at most a complete desktop area on the user interface screen, storing the document in memory of the mobile device, closing the document by the mobile application at the user interface screen, and automatically showing the document stored by the mobile application at the desktop area by means of a representation after the document is closed. A mobile device is provided for performing the method.

Abstract: Various embodiments include a system having interfaces, storage devices, memory, and processing circuitry. The system may include logic to render a portion of a first layer and a portion of a second layer for presentation, determine parameters of tokens for the second layer based a result of the rendering of the second layer, the parameters to include at least one of token width values, token offset values, line height values, and line top values. The system also to align the first layer and the second layer based on the parameters of the tokens for the second layer, and present the first layer and the second layer on a display, the first layer to present tokens and the second layer to receive events.

Abstract: The invention relates to deploying a synchronization index and associated multimedia, for manipulations to the synchronization index, for navigation between the synchronization index and associated multimedia, and for synchronous playback of the multimedia and associated text, using a computing device. The system may use multimedia with a synchronized text transcription, or a synchronization index, on a computing device for viewing and manipulating the multimedia, using the synchronized text transcription. The computing device may be used to navigate the multimedia, annotate the text transcription, achieve synchronous play of the multimedia, and communicate to another computer manipulations performed on the text or multimedia.

Abstract: Described herein is a technology for modifying hotspot objects in a user interface (UI). In one implementation, a view of a user interface is presented on a display by a hotspot manager. UI interaction including selection of a location in the view is received. A hotspot object associated to the selected location of the view may be modified based on the UI interaction when the hotspot manager is in an edit mode. The hotspot object contains information of the selected location. An updated content of the hotspot object may be presented in the edit mode, the updated content resulting from changes to an existing hotspot object or addition of a new hotspot object.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method which allows managers to identify anomalies in organizations, brands or projects at an early stage. Advantage is taken of the fact that a large percentage of the elements of all organizational (project) problems are promptly captured in some form on an electronic notation. Portions of these notations are abstracted into categories. Each categorized abstract is displayed in an appropriate partition for review by one or more managers. As a category becomes populated with more and more abstracts, the visual color of the representations of the abstracts of that category can change to reflect their individual ages or other attributes of that category's abstracts. For example, the color of each abstract-representing graphical “dot” can fade over time. A group of new “dots” within a category, or blinking dots representing content that is particularly well matched to the category definition can graphically signify extra concern.

Abstract: Computer implemented systems and methods are disclosed for annotating and linking electronic documents. In accordance with some embodiments, annotations assigned to source electronic documents are received and snippets are generated from the received annotations. The generated snippets are aggregated into clusters, which are used to generate an electronic document. Links between the snippets and their respective source documents may be generated and embedded in the generated electronic document.

Abstract: A system and method that transfers data from scanned documents and document images directly into a spreadsheet. The user can construct a map that associates data types in the input scanned document with an area in the spreadsheet. The user can also use pre-stored maps that have previously been constructed by the user or by someone else. The map may be stored as an XML file in a hidden sheet of the spreadsheet or in a separate file. During use, the user selects a map, scans the document, parses the document to extract the data types and associated data, and transfers the parsed data to the spreadsheet in accordance with the selected mapping.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to dividing and merging documents on a touch panel. A method includes dividing a document displayed on a touch panel having a display function using an information processing device connected to the touch panel. Positions of two different points on the touch panel are identified in response to a user indicating the two different points in the document. The document is divided, by a computer processor, based on a line segment extending from a starting point to an end point of a traced line traced by the user. The line segment is used as a dividing line in response to the user tracing the traced line on the touch panel so as to traverse the two different points.

Abstract: A system and method for generating an interactive sitemap of a website includes steps of: receiving an identifier of a user visiting the website; storing identifiers of the website pages visited by the user; associating the website page identifiers with the user identifier; capturing a snapshot of each website page visited by the user; determining website pages recommended for the user, but not yet visited by the user; capturing a snapshot of at least one recommended website page; and generating the interactive sitemap that includes a sitemap tree structure of the website with selectable nodes representing the website pages visited by the user and the website pages recommended for the user. When the user rolls over one of the selectable nodes, presenting the snapshot within the in-page window.

Abstract: Detection of a document type of a document is provided. An application such as a document processing application analyzes a document to detect features of the document and pages of the document, based on an action selecting the document. The features include declarative and separative features. A type of the pages is detected based on the features. The type of the pages and values of the features of the document are aggregated to identify the document type of the document.

Abstract: The disclosure is directed to written content generation. A method for generating written content in an application in accordance with an embodiment includes: receiving a query from a user; importing data from at least one data source in response to the query; ranking the imported data based on a plurality of ranking factors to determine a relevance of the imported data; automatically generating written content using at least a portion of the imported data based on the determined relevance of the imported data; and automatically customizing the written content based on a file format of the application.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for registering, curating, enabling, and controlling the use of non-locational identifiers, such as phone numbers and domain names, as physical addresses and location identifiers (LIDs) for purposes of providing instant access to enhanced cross-platform location information and services imbedded in other devices and services through an LID registry. An exemplary method for registration may include receiving a request from a requester to register a non-locational identifier owned by the requester and create an LID for a physical location, creating the LID within the LID registry by verifying that the LID is unique within the registry, that the requestor owns the LID, and registering the LID to the requestor within the LID registry. Users may then use the LIDs as physical addresses for purposes of navigation and obtaining information related to such physical locations only as authorized and controlled by the owners of such LIDs.

Abstract: A computing device can be controlled based on changes in the angle of a user's head with respect to the device, such as due to the user tilting the device and/or the user tilting his head with respect to the device. Such control based on the angle of the user's head can be achieved even when the user is operating the device “off-axis” or when the device is not orthogonal and/or not centered with respect to the user. This can be accomplished by using an elastic reference point that dynamically adjusts to a detected angle of the user's head with respect to the device. Such an approach can account for differences between when the user is changing his natural resting position and/or the resting position of the device and when the user is intending to perform a gesture based on the angle of the user's head relative to the device.

Abstract: Link association analysis systems are presented. Disclosed systems are configured to analyze links created by users and to determine possible reasons underpinning why a user would create such a link. The system derives such reasons by analyzing the context within which the link was created and to which the link points, and then presents the reasons as a data object to users for feedback. The system can be made to be self-refining by collecting survey data regarding its accuracy, so that the more users interact with the system, the more accurate the system is at deriving reasons for link creation.

Abstract: A method performed within a content editing device provides advanced editing functionality for use within application user interfaces having selectable content. The method provides automatic content insertion following a selection of an end location within the target document and selection of content for insertion at the selected end location. An editor moves content around within one or more documents by tagging the end location and selecting the content that is to be moved or copied to that end location. The method further enables efficient re-arrangement of multiple selected contents within a single document or across multiple application user interfaces by tagging each of the selected content with a sequence tag indicative of the relative content location within the re-arranged sequence of content. Once the content has been tagged, a selectable paste option automatically orders the various contents at the end location in correct sequence relative to each other.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product are provided for providing alternative text for use in association with image data specified by a uniform resource identifier (URI). The method includes identifying a URI specifying image data, processing the URI to identify data representing alternative text encoded within the URI, and extracting any identified alternative text data for use in association with the image data.

Abstract: A user terminal device is provided that includes a display part configured to display a document preparation window, an input part configured to receive a selection command for selecting a text in a document displayed in the document preparation window, a communication part configured to connect to a server, and a controller configured to control displaying of an activated search button in a region of the document preparation window when the text is selected, and to search for, when the search button is selected, at least one image corresponding to the selected text using the communication part, wherein the controller is further configured to control displaying of images searched for from at least one of the server and a storage part of the user terminal device, and to, when one of the searched images is selected, insert the selected image at a predetermined position of the document preparation window.

Abstract: Tools and techniques are described for linking visual properties of charts to cells within tables. Methods provided by these tools enable users to select visual properties that are associated with graphical displays of chart data, and to link these visual properties to respective cells within the tables. User interfaces provided by these tools may provide representations of visual properties associated with the graphical displays of chart data, with these representations of the visual properties being responsive to user input to link the cells in the tables to the visual properties. These user interfaces may also include representations of the cells that are associated with the representations of the visual properties.

Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein provides methods for formatting a table for display on a computing device. A table having one or more rows and one or more columns may be accessed. The rows may correspond to one or more data records. The data records may have one or more data values distributed across the columns. The columns may be associated with one or more column labels and one or more priority values. A size of a display screen on a computing device may be determined. A table may be formatted by moving a column label and a data value in at least one column into an area between successive data records. The formatting may be based on the display screen size and an associated column priority value. The formatted table may be caused to be displayed on the computing device.
