  • Patent number: 9283638
Abstract: A device forms grooves or slits in a material web as it moves in a longitudinal direction. The grooves or slits, which are spaced apart from one another in the longitudinal direction, are formed by a laser beam. A laser beam source generates a continuous laser beam and a deflection mirror directs the laser beam onto the material web. The mirror rotates about an axis of rotation and it is displaceable along the axis. The mirror has a first mirror face, the line of intersection of which with a sectional plane perpendicular with respect to the axis of rotation forms a circular arc which varies depending on the axial position of the sectional plane. A second mirror face deflects the laser beam towards an absorber. Focusing optics focus the laser beam, after reflection from the first mirror face, onto the moving material web.

  • Patent number: 9259121
Abstract: A hermetically-sealed, ohmic heating packet for storing, heating and sterilizing food and beverage items. The packet is formed of a multilayer laminate material having interior and exterior polymer layers and an intermediate metallic foil layer. Conductive tags on the exterior of the packet are electrically connected to electrodes on the interior of the packet through reverse-patched regions of the packet's sidewalls. The configuration of the electrical connection prevents current from leaking into the metallic foil layer of the packet during heating, thereby mitigating the risk of a short circuit condition in the packet. The rectangular prism geometry of the packet and the parallel configuration of the electrodes within the packet facilitate uniform heating of the packet's contents.

  • Patent number: 8502118
Abstract: An energy-saving and heat preservation device is mainly a heat preservation device for heating device and receptacle. Upper and lower receiving slots opened to outside and opposite to upper and lower ends of a receptacle respectively are provided in the heating device, while a first and a second chambers opposite to each other are provided in the heat preservation device. Energy storage material, which is a reversible phase-change material, is received within the first chamber. A conduit is connected between the first and the second chambers to form an integral connection arrangement. Hence, waste heat generated in the heating process is collected and stored, and is used for heat preservation. Not only the exhausted waste heat, which later becomes heat load of air conditioning apparatus, can be reduced but also power consumption for heat preservation can be lowered.

  • Patent number: 8410390
Abstract: A grinding machine for grinding a workpiece comprises a machine frame, a bearing device provided on the machine frame and movable along guides, in which a cup-shaped grinding wheel is rotatably drivable about a grinding wheel axis and electrically insulated. The grinding wheel is electrically connected to a generator. The device for profile dressing, sharpening and cleaning the grinding wheel consists of a single cup-shaped electrode, which is drivable about its central axis and is placed on a slide, which allows a working gap to exist between the machining surface of the cup-shaped electrode and the annular abrasive surface. A spark erosion discharge occurs in the gap when a voltage is applied. The grinding wheel can thereby be optimally conditioned by electric discharge machining.
