Patent number: 8703029Abstract: A method is provided for obtaining a polyarylene sulfide resin composition with a low chlorine content, which has high fluidity and high quality and produces less burrs. Specifically, a method is provided wherein a polyarylene sulfide resin composition is produced by melting and mixing (A) a polyarylene sulfide resin, (B) an inorganic filler, and (C) an alkoxysilane compound. In this method, (A) a polyarylene sulfide resin having a melt viscosity of 80-400 Pa·s (at a temperature of 310° C. and a shear rate of 1200/sec) and a chlorine content of 1000-2000 ppm is supplied from a raw material feed port of a specific extruder, and then extruded at two kneading parts within the range of [shear rate (1/sec)×kneading time (sec)=1600-6000], thereby producing a polyarylene sulfide resin composition having a melt viscosity of 150-330 Pa·s (at a temperature of 310° C. and a shear rate of 1200/sec) and a chlorine content of not more than 950 ppm.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2009Date of Patent: April 22, 2014Assignee: Polyplastics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazunari Takada, Raita Nishikawa, Katsuhei Ohnishi

Patent number: 8668858Abstract: A method for manufacturing rigid panels made of a composite material requires a caul sheet having a smooth surface that is formed with a plurality of grooves. A first layer of the composite material is laid on the caul sheet, and is cut to create flaps that extend into the respective grooves. Strips of composite material are then placed along the edges of the groove to extend and overlap each other in the groove. Next, a unidirectional ply is placed along the length of the groove, and this combination is then covered with a second layer of the composite material. Together, the combination of the first and second layers, the strips and the unidirectional ply are co-cured to create a rigid panel with integral stiffening members.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2007Date of Patent: March 11, 2014Assignee: Spectrum Aeronautical, LLCInventors: Larry J. Patent number: 8597013Abstract: The invention describes a tensioning rail (3) for a membrane (2) of a membrane press. To allow a simpler and more rapid assembly and disassembly of the membrane (2) than in known devices, the tensioning rail includes a support rail (8), in which at least one tensioning strip (13) is mounted detachably, whereby the tensioning strip (13) is designed for securely clamping onto the edge of the membrane (2). In this way it is possible to equip a new replacement membrane (2) with tensioning strips (13) independently and outside of the membrane press, which then only need to be attached to the support rail (8). In this case the support rail does not need to be disassembled, but remains on the membrane press the whole time. A further essential advantage is that the tensioning rail (3) can also be installed into existing membrane presses, for example as a replacement for an existing securing device for the membrane.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2009Date of Patent: December 3, 2013Assignee: 3S Swiss Solar Systems AGInventors: Beat Strebel, Roland Kappaun, Roman Polo
