Abstract: A safety harness for vertically lifting of a user is provided. The safety harness includes an upper body harness and a lower body harness which may be positioned on liners within a coat and pants of the user, respectively. The upper body harness and lower body harness attach together to function as a Class III harness enabling lifting of a user in a vertical orientation by virtue of the harness geometry. The lower body harness alone serves as a Class II harness and the upper body harness alone serves as a drag line. The harness is particularly suited to be integrated with firefighting turnout gear for ready donning with the turnout gear.

Abstract: A firefighter hood comprising a hood body configured to fit around a head of a wearer, wherein the hood body includes a face opening configured to be aligned with a face of the wearer when the hood is worn. The hood further includes a flap coupled to the hood body. The flap is movable between an extended position wherein the flap covers only part of the opening in front view, and a retracted position wherein the flap does not cover any of the opening in front view or covers less of the opening in front view compared to when the flap is in the extended position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an article of clothing that is worn by a person for preventing an infant from accidental falling while the person nurses the infant. The article may be a garment that includes an item of clothing to be worn by a person and a support garment panel attached to the item of clothing. The support garment panel is attached to the perimeter of the armholes of the item of clothing and defines a pocket between the support garment panel and the item of clothing. The pocket includes an opening for receiving an infant and a base for supporting the infant.

Abstract: Methods for manufacturing wipes including melamine entangled into a nonwoven, and associated articles of manufacture. Such a method may include providing a melamine sheet (e.g., contiguous, rather than discrete melamine particles), providing first and second nonwoven sheets, and positioning the melamine sheet between the first and second nonwoven sheets. The sandwich structure is hydro-entangled at high pressure to force the melamine material to become entangled into the nonwoven material, to a degree that a portion of the melamine is actually exposed on the exterior face(s) of the wipe, which are generally provided by the nonwoven sheets. Such a wipe exhibits the drapability of a wipe, with the scrubbing benefits (e.g., very effective cleaning of baseboards, crayon off walls, etc.) of melamine, with greater durability than existing melamine cleaning articles, which tend to quickly crumble during use.

Abstract: A head-mounted display (HMD) includes a fabric hood shaped and dimensioned to be worn over a user's head. The HMD also includes a rigid body housing a display panel at one side and open at an opposite side to receive with the user's face. A fixture is configured to secure the fabric hood to the rigid body.

Abstract: A vibrating apparatus for dimensional stabilization treatment of fabrics includes a fabric-containing tub (2), a vibration-generating slider-crank mechanism (3) and a support mechanism (4) for supporting the tub (2) and transferring the vibrations produced by the generating mechanism (3). The tub (2) is made of carbon fiber and the mechanism (4) for supporting and transferring vibrations includes at least three rocker arms (12), each having one end hinged to the tub (2), the other end hinged to a counterweight (6) located opposite to the tub (2) and being hinged in the middle to a load-bearing structure (16).

Abstract: Face covers, protective outwear systems, and methods for manufacturing the same are disclosed. A cover is disclosed for protecting the human face, head, neck, and/or shoulders against environmental conditions. The cover, which does not cover the eyes, nostrils or mouth, includes 2-4 separate pieces which can be worn together or individually. A first piece covers the face from above the mouth to below the eyes, including the nose and cheeks. A second piece covers the face from below the mouth to the bottom of the neck. These pieces can overlap on the cheeks to minimize/prevent air and moisture from reaching the face. A third piece covers the head and/or neck and/or shoulders. These pieces can be joined together by any known means. Any piece can be made with a moldable material and/or elastic components which allow the mask to fit different faces and/or help ventilate exhalations away from the face.

Abstract: A protective helmet having a liner assembly received in an outer shell and connected to the outer shell, with front, rear, side and top portions each including at least one zone where the liner assembly includes a plurality of overlapping layers, each of the layers being made from one of first, second, third and fourth materials, where the first material has a greater density and/or hardness than that of the second, third and fourth materials, the second material has a greater density and/or hardness than that of the third and fourth materials, and the third material has a greater density and/or hardness than that of the fourth material, and wherein the liner assembly includes one or more particular zones set forth in Table 3 or 4.

Abstract: A needle assembly for a stitching machine comprises a stitching jig comprising a needle holder, a needle clamp hoop and a fixing jig. The needle holder has needle sockets to hold a plurality of needles. The needle clamp hoop is connected to the needle holder to retain needles in the sockets. The fixing jig is connected to the needle clamp hoop to couple with a reciprocating bar of the stitching machine. A method for manufacturing an article of footwear upper comprises laying out a first sheet of material; positioning a second sheet of material to overlap with the first sheet of material at an overlap; positioning a felt material adjacent the overlap so that the second sheet of material is between the first sheet of material and the felt material; and felting the felt material to draw fibers of the felt material through the first and second sheets of material.

Abstract: In adaptive clothing, magnetic members engage to magnetically fasten a lower front layer and an upper front layer. A first magnetic member is provided in a housing having a base extending beyond the boundaries of the magnet. The base is sewn to fabric. The housing is secured in a placket to be affixed to a garment upper layer. A second magnetic member is placed in an interior enclosure of a lower front layer. A button or other component is secured to the exterior side of the upper front layer to provide the appearance of a buttoned placket. To close the garment, the first magnetic member is brought in proximity to the second magnetic member. The placket may be constructed as a separate unit and attached to the garment in a separate operation, allowing construction of the placket without manipulating the entire garment. Cuffs are prepared in a manner similar to the placket.

Abstract: An improved multi-purpose tool useful for creating various crafts using yarn is disclosed. The tool comprises a bottom portion and a top portion. The bottom portion comprises one or more bottom members, the one or more bottom members having a space in between and extending downwards and generally parallel to each other at ends of the one or more bottom members. The upper portion comprises one or more upper members, the one or more upper members having a space in between and extending upwards and generally parallel to each other at ends of the one or more upper members. The tool also includes one or more notches contained in the ends of the one or more bottom members and in the ends of the one or more upper members. The notches along with the upper and/or bottom portions allow a user to create a variety of crafts using the same tool. The tool may also include one or more holes to help the yarn used for crafting from getting twisted.

Abstract: A bicycle helmet includes a body, a plurality of air inlets and a plurality of air outlets. The body includes a front portion, an upper portion, a rear portion and an inner portion. The upper portion includes a closed surface. A plurality of dimple structures are formed on the closed surface to produce an aerodynamic effect. The air inlets are formed on the front portion. The air outlets are formed on the rear portion. The inner portion includes a plurality of ribs, the ribs are positioned correspondingly to the air inlet and the air outlet and define air channels therein, an airflow flows through the body due to the airflow entering the body through the air inlets, passing through the air channels and exiting the body through the air outlets.

Abstract: A garment or accessory includes an outer layer coupled to a liner that is partially removable via fasteners. The outer layer includes an inner surface and an outer surface. The liner includes an edge. A portion of the edge is coupled to the inner surface of the outer layer. The fastener includes a first member coupled to the inner surface of the outer layer and a second member coupled to the liner at an uncoupled portion of the edge of the liner. A space is formed between the liner and the inner surface of the outer layer. The space is accessible through the uncoupled portion.

Abstract: A sun blocking assembly includes a sleeve that is selectively worn on an arm. The sleeve is elongated to extend between a crown of a shoulder and a wrist. The sleeve is comprised of an opaque material to block sunlight thereby inhibiting the sunlight from burning the arm. A drawstring is slidably coupled to the sleeve to tighten the sleeve on the arm. A first elastic member is coupled to the sleeve to tighten the sleeve on the arm. A glove is provided and the glove is selectively worn on a hand. The glove is comprised of an opaque material to block sunlight thereby inhibiting the sunlight from burning the hand.

Abstract: The disclosure describes a low density cloth preform, and apparatuses and methods for manufacturing the same. The low density cloth preform has a lower density than other preforms manufactured using prior apparatuses and methods, thereby rendering the low density cloth preform more amenable to the addition of matrix carbon thereto through the use of less expensive carbon sources and more rapid processes for adding matrix carbon. The apparatuses and methods for manufacturing the low density cloth preform comprise preform needling machines configured and preform needling processes operable to provide a more uniform and lesser needling depth with the result being a preform having a lower density. The preform needling machines utilize foam bases formed from resilient materials having appropriate rebound rates, arrangements of barbed needles in one or more groups and needling stages, and positioning of the barbed needles to minimize deflection of the foam bases and preform material.

Abstract: One-piece swimsuit and method of manufacture provide for easy extraction of one or both legs without removing the top of the swimsuit. A top and bottom portion of the swimsuit can be partially separated by an openable closure that connects the top portion to the bottom portion when closed. An integral joining strip that secures the top portion to the bottom portion at one side of the swimsuit, so that when both legs are removed from the bottom portion, the bottom portion of the swimsuit is retained at the side of the wearer. An elastic expansion may be provided in the joining strip to facilitate pulling the bottom portion downward when extracting the wearer's leg(s). The closure may be an elastic band or elastic zipper to facilitate reconnection of the bottom portion to the top portion. A flap or skirt may be included to hide the closure.

Abstract: A hand cover system can include: an exterior structure including a finger sheath and a thumb sheath; a sealing structure coupled to the finger sheath of the exterior structure, the sealing structure including magnets, the sealing structure enabling an open configuration and a closed configuration; and wherein: the open configuration includes the sealing structure split apart and the exterior structure folded back on itself for allowing a user's hand to be exposed from between the sealing structure, and the closed configuration includes the magnets of the sealing structure maintaining the sealing structure together for covering the user's hand.

The upper surface is opposite the bottom surface. The perimeter surface extends between the bottom surface and the upper surface. The perimeter surface defines perimeter sides of a set of protrusions of the plurality of protrusions that abut the perimeter surface.
