  • Patent number: 8348727
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an airflow generation and particle dispersion arrangement for a power tool (e.g., an angle grinder). The arrangement includes a motor, an airflow generation assembly, and a particle dispersion assembly. The airflow generation assembly includes a fan driven by the motor. When engaged, the driven fan generates an airstream that is drawn through the power tool. The particle dispersion assembly includes a passive fan that is not driven by the motor, but instead is driven by the airstream. In operation, the passive fan generates centrifugal and mechanical forces sufficient to remove particles from intake air passing through the particle dispersion assembly.

  • Patent number: 8352576
Abstract: A server system stores media library associated with a user. The media library includes at least one media file. The server system determines whether the media file is stored on a second computing device that is able to send the media file to the first computing device across a local network connecting the first computing device and the second computing device. If the determination indicates that the media file is stored on a second computing device that is able to send the stored media file to the first computing device across a local network connecting the first computing device and the second computing device, the server system sends causes the second computing device to send the media file to the first computing device across the local network such that the first computing device is able to output the media file to the user.

  • Patent number: 8350966
Abstract: Two consecutive interlaced video pictures of the same polarity or two consecutive progressive video pictures are read by a video processing system. The video pictures may comprise a current picture and a noise reduced reference picture. Motion and/or motion vectors may be estimated between the current and reference pictures by a motion compensated noise detector and/or a motion compensated temporal filter. A noise level sample may be determined for a pixel in the current picture based on a window of pixel data from the current picture and a window of motion compensated pixel data from the reference picture. One or more of a moving edge gradient value, a moving content value and a determined range of noise level values may be utilized to determine a valid noise sample. Noise level samples may be accumulated and a noise level may be determined for the current picture.

  • Patent number: 8351386
Abstract: A base station apparatus includes a correction unit for correcting a CQI reported from a user apparatus and a scheduler for scheduling based on the corrected CQI. The correction unit uses a correction table to correct the CQI such that if the reported CQI is poor, the CQI is slightly reduced, and otherwise, the CQI is significantly reduced. One method of generating the correction table includes deriving a first SINR in consideration of the number of interference users less than (n?1) and a second SINR in consideration of the number of interference users equal to (n?1) to explore a distribution of the second SINR to the first SINR. In this method, correspondence between the first SINR and the second SINR is determined based on the distribution to generate the correction table.

  • Patent number: 8352514
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system is provided for associating and extracting content artifacts from a graphical representation of electronic content. A multi-dimensional virtual lattice comprising one or more grid layers is created. The nodes of the multi-dimensional virtual lattice represent metadata acquired from predefined content criteria. Electronic content comprising content artifacts acquired from multiple content sources is graphically represented within the multi-dimensional virtual lattice using the grid layers. Each of the content artifacts from the electronic content attaches to one or more nodes of the multi-dimensional virtual lattice. A user provides search criteria comprising keywords. The content artifacts attached to nodes of the multi-dimensional virtual lattice whose metadata matches with the keywords are extracted and displayed to the user.

  • Patent number: 8351841
Abstract: The present invention prevents a conveying force of a rotation body from being locally deteriorated, and increases lifetime of the rotation body. A printer 1000 changes, by means of control of a controller, starting position at which rotation speeds of skew feeding correcting drive rollers 21a and 22a are changed. With this, the printer 1000 prevents a conveying force from being concentrated on specific positions of the skew feeding correcting drive rollers 21a and 22a, thereby preventing local wearing and deterioration of the conveying force, and the skew feeding correcting drive rollers 21a and 22a can be used for a long term.

  • Patent number: 8352482
Abstract: A replicated decentralized storage system comprises a plurality of servers that locally store disk images for locally running virtual machines as well as disk images, for failover purposes, for remotely running virtual machines. To ensure that disk images stored for failover purposes are properly replicated upon an update of the disk image on the server running the virtual machine, a hash of a unique value known only to the server running the virtual machine is used to verify the origin of update operations that have been transmitted by the server to the other servers storing replications of the disk image for failover purposes. If verified, the update operations are added to such failover disk images.

  • Patent number: 8350689
Abstract: The present invention provides a monitor of the hose connection of a pneumatic product-on-demand delivery system in an agricultural machine. This can be done in several ways. One way is to sense the product flow in the product hose and how long it is running. If the product is constantly running through the hose, that indicates a disconnection. A second way is to sense air pressure in the product hose to determine if it is still operating under pressure. If disconnected, the air pressure will drop indicating a disconnection. A third way is to sense a current through the connection to determine if it is on or off. All of these methods produce a signal that can be fed back to a monitor at the operator station and give the operator an alert if a disconnected hose is detected.
