  • Patent number: 11138889
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for reserving airspace for UAV operations. In some implementations, a flight planning system can reserve and allocate airspace for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations. For example, a UAV operator device can submit a flight plan to the flight planning system. The flight planning system can submit a flight authorization request to an airspace management system to reserve airspace necessary for the flight plan. The flight planning system can receive approval and/or a reservation of the airspace for the flight plan from the airspace management system, generate a flight data package, and send the flight data package to the operator's device.

  • Patent number: 11131997
Abstract: A route generation apparatus (13) has: a generating device (132) and a setting device (132). The generating device generates, on the basis of an evaluation score (SC2), a moving route of a movable object (1) that reaches a second position (WP_end) from a first position (WP_start) so as to avoid an interference between the movable object and an obstacle (O). The evaluation score is obtained by executing a weighting process on a distance (D_FL, D_FR, D_RL, D_RR) between the obstacle and specific portions (E_FL, E_FR, E_RL, E_RR) of the movable object on the basis of weighting coefficients (w_FL, w_FR, w_RL, w_RR). The setting device sets at least one weighting coefficient on the basis of a moving condition of the movable object during a period when the movable objects moves on the moving route.

  • Patent number: 11105642
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide for identifying problematic areas within a service area for an autonomous vehicle transportation service. For instance, a starting location within the service area corresponding to a potential pickup location for passengers or cargo for the service may be identified. A destination within the service area may be identified. A simulation may be run in order to determine a route for a simulated vehicle to travel between the starting location and the destination. That the route includes a particular type of maneuver may be determined. A new simulation without allowing the simulated vehicle to complete the particular type of maneuver may be run. Whether the simulated vehicle reaches the destination in the new simulation may be determined. Based on the determination of whether the simulated vehicle reaches the destination in the new simulation, the starting location and destination location may be flagged as potentially problematic areas.

  • Patent number: 11029706
Abstract: A flight control system for an aircraft is disclosed and includes one or more processors and a memory coupled to the processors. The memory stores data comprising a database and program code that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the flight control system to receive as input a measured angle of attack that is based on a raw angle of attack and an estimated angle of attack based on a total pressure. The flight control system is further caused to compare the measured angle of attack with the estimated angle of attack to determine an error. In response to determining that the error between the measured angle of attack and the estimated angle of attack exceeds a threshold value, the flight control system determines the presence of a fault with an angle of attack value.
